Me too. I've honestly never had anything against them, only when they'd do that annoying red shot eyes BAHHH thing (which looked really weird to me as a mascot marketed towards children). But when they're much calmer, they somehow manage to be cute. Looking at them, they're just white rabbits, except made rabid (without the rabies part). They might've had a questionable early start franchise wise and some mediocre titles with very few shining in between, but they're honestly not so bad and the whole controversial Rayman thing was way blown out of proportions. Now look at Rayman, he's got two fucking swag games. The two of them are able to co-exist with each other and I'm sure that with this games' help, they'll manage to whip out another Rayman in no time if fans manage to complain less about the Rabbids and help Ubisoft understand what they want.

Phantom of the Opera Rabbid was a unexpected surprised. With the way how this game is made, they really went out of their way to make the Rabbids blend well as much as possible. Despite being from the Rayman world, they feel like they'd fit anywhere due to how simple they are design wise.

From the videos of gameplay from reviews I have seen, its like this:

Here's a example:
A rather popular e celeb started a match with the move of just super jumping to be behind the closest rabbid, and then attacks it for some basic damage, and then was like "whoops, I could have slide attacked it first, then shot it to kill it on one turn, On well, just a simple mistake." Then, on the enemies turn, in one move, a rabbid healed that rabbid, his Mario then got slide attacked 3 times in a fucking row, and then got shot 3 times as well, dying instantly.

The game preys on carelessness, and destroys you if you hold back or try to play it safe.

I think we can safely say it will be at least decent.
The big question is: Will it sell well compared to other Mario Spinoffs? Will the Rabbids scare too many potential buyers? Will it spawn sequels?

Forgot to add this. It feels like old Mario Kart rubberbanding. You know, where, if you are behind and aren't using everything you can to get into first against the AI, you aren't going to get into first. You either try your hardest, or expect to lose, no middle ground. Its like that here. People expect it to be boring mind numbing simple, so they play it safe and slow, and then the game fucking kills you for it.

It's been in the top 20 on Amazon since it made its formal debut. The only thing with an E3 highlight that beat it in that time frame was Super Mario Odyssey, for perspective.

Keep in mind stuff like Destiny 2 have never performed as well as Kingdom Battle in that chart even though Destiny 2 is supposed to come out next month so it should be getting to the top 20 in the same time frame as most AAA releases do.

Of course, Destiny 2 is a sequel to Destiny so that would explain its tepid performance.

All in all I think Kingdom Battle will do pretty comfortably well.

My biggest hope is that it means the higher ups interpret it as letting Mario spinoffs be more cavalier instead of neutering them like what they did with Paper Mario.
