I alternate between buying and pirating, usually pirating games that interest me to see if it might be something I'll consider buying some other time. In terms of buying, I only buy if the game has a good sale (50% off is the minimum, though I usually wait for around 60-75% before I buy it) or is in a bundle with enough games I don't own yet that interest me. If I can hack a console and get free games on it you bet I'll do it. I've been getting them fairly regularly for years, but they've always been all bark no bite, until about a year ago, when all those major shutdowns started happening. Video game piracy nowadays is probably less of a problem. A lot of games are legitimately worse when pirated if they lack MP components and other than the extreme ultrajewery of some of the big players, you can often find legitimate deals which sell games either cheaply or at the very least at some price approaching reasonable. Hell, you can even find deals on "big" games if you have a bit of patience and/or know where to look. The service quality provided to the customer in the video game industry is better than that provided in the video/media industry. When it comes to video piracy is legitimately better in terms of ease of access, having less restrictions, being quicker and more convenient, at least for high-quality stuff. And it's all fucking free to top it all off. Modern game piracy does at least come with some tradeoffs and isn't 100% better than the legit product 100% of the time.

I like how people here try to justify piracy. You are not entitled to anything, just because you don't like the company, doesn't mean you don't have to pay for their product, it's their product, so they decide what price it will go for, and they will decide how it will be distributed.

Recently I've been having an utterly bizarre issue with pirate installed where they'll only properly load after me trying and failing to load them a couple dozen times. I have no idea what the fuck is causing it, and the most bizarre part is that they do end up working EVENTUALLY, after several times of me having to shut down installer.tmp in task manager. If it simply didn't work that'd make more sense, but I got no clue what could be making them work only extremely sporadically.
