Not sure what you saw but the people running the shit probably fucked up when they set it up if you remember the image being blurry.
It's not rocket science to get sharp picture. Good contrast is a bit more difficult and it's not likely the projectors will catch up with good monitors anytime soon in that department.

Kind of standard for pocket sized smartphone / notebook projectors running on batteries.
You're not going to get TRUE CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE (TM) out of that one but you can use some random white wall for semi large screen anywhere without the need to drag a power generator with you.

My friend has 1440p projector.
Paid a lot for it.
We watched avatar (the blue people) on it and it looked amazing.
You just need the right surface and a steady hand when focusing the lens.
