Hyde's most basic ability with his sword comes from Yuzu's family dojo. Plus he says he'd ideally want to use two of them. The sword itself also is a manifestation of his own abilities, so since this was before Chronicle Mode was a thing, it cleared up the confusion that Hyde was "entrusted" with it from Linne.
