Okay on some real shit the games aren't for everyone but classic sonic is unique in how it has a more arcade like approach to how it handle it's levels as they're replayable for finding paths and secrets with a new gimmick here and there to add a bit of freshness has flaws for sure but it's more respectable than unfocused shit like the Adventure games

I've always found it incredibly frustrating. You go fast and do a loop then you're going the wrong way and you fall into god knows where.
I've also hated platformers that slide your character around, like they've gained a bunch of momentum from walking a step forward.
