Well the point I was trying to make is that Westerners HAVE the ability and talent to make a good video game. Now that we have a game like this come out there is absolutely no excuse for western games to get progressively worse for the sake of making something with the least amount of effort put into it for the most amount of money.

Pretty soon you're going to see this game shoot way up in sales, everyone will be talking about how good it is and in development studios, heads will start to fucking turn. This change won't happen overnight, but give it a couple years. I'm feeling pretty optimistic about what's to come.

Granted, there are good games coming out from the west but nothing from a big name, Triple-A studio that spend fucking millions on marketing and fuck-all on the actual game. Mostly, we've only been seeing the only interesting ideas come from small-time indie developers who have nothing better to do but are overshadowed by an ocean of shit.

And yeah, this game was developed by Indie developers, but SEGA just gave them their blessing, gave them the tools and assets, gave them a kiss and helped market the game. You could probably imagine what kind of success could emerge from SEGA doing that with all their past franchises and IPs instead of shutting them down like Streets of Rage Remake.

(This is a project I would love to see get the same sort of treatment by SEGA, by the way)
