I quit the game for a while and only beat him when I went back on a new character after a year or so, its actuall not that hard when you figure out that with all the defense buffs, beetle armor, tall arena of multiple segments and a flying mount his attacks are very easy to dodge, its just learning that you can manipulate his phantasm sphere attack very easily once you have an arena, once you figure that out he doesn't do enough damage to pose a big enough threat, still really bullshit that he has so much more to him than any other boss and can't be fought in a similar fashion at all

the first time i did moonlord on expert solo i had to grapple to nurse a few times but after i got some endgame loot he became laughably easy

Is this game on the same version for PS4? Looking to snag something easy for me and my fiancée to play. I played way back when those 2 new biomes, the ponies and corruption shit, first came out, but I'm positive there's been loads more content since.

Spike blocks do a small amount of damage by endgame standards and used to trigger invincibility frames. What you did was sit on top of one (either grappling it or equipping the cobalt shield to avoid knockback) while boosting your health regen through buffs, provided by campfires, heart lantern, potions and touching honey, then summon minions. Since you were getting hit constantly you refreshed your i-frames as soon as they ended and the regen almost negated the damage caused by spikes, thus you could basically turn off your monitor while your summons killed the boss.
