Nope.
If I remember that abysmal game correctly, the Ghosts were a stealth black-ops team trying to preserve the crumbling remains of the U.S. and there was some satellite doomsday weapon that bombed half the continent.

I'm probably wrong and expect to be called out by another anon but, it was bad. Like, even from an "all COD is shit" point of view, Ghosts was awful.

The entire point of the series is that arrogant fucks like Shepherd and Makarov are the ones who destroy nations.

Remember that time when the bad guys won?
>>
>>387250761
MW1 and 2 are genuinely well written, it's only from MW3 onwards that these games became schlock.

1 talked a lot about the consequences of foreign intervention and told us this by giving us a sympathetic villain and a likeable squad with good banter between them.

2 built upon this by talking about how history can be distorted depending on which lens you look at it through. They show this by making the villain of the last game into a martyr and by having a villain that tries to write history by creating a war so that he can become a hero.

MW3 is a bad fanfic that makes no sense if you even think about it's plot for longer than a second.

MW3 felt so cheap to me. The music, the animations, even the graphic design on the menus felt off. Shame the infinity ward devs who worked on COD 4 and MW2 moved on before MW3 came around. Wish them all the best with the Titanfall series but it's not really my thing.

I firmly believe that "Of Their Own Accord" is one the best CoD missions out there. It feels like a completely unrealistic action movie but also feels emotional as fuck at the same time.

Walking out of that shitty dying bunker and beholding Washington is flames is just something else. The instrumental musical score is damn awesome and there's constant background radio chatter that's actually done well. The final scene in the helicopter with the intense ass music and everyone evacuating and leaving people behind is something I'll never forget.

I think a lot of the hate for MW2 comes from what it's popularity did to the industry.

It's not the game's fault, but it became so popular that everyone tried to copy it, which lead to other genres getting shafted in favour of COD clones.

Shepard betraying you is one of the biggest twists in gaming

I wouldn't say it's the biggest, but it's definitely well foreshadowed. Team Player exists to hint towards that big twist, not to mention how you can hear the distrust in Price's voice when he talks to Shepherd.

I also have a theory that he gave Makarov the ACS after Cliffhanger, which is why the Russians cracked it so quickly.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.John Stuart Mill

The way they talk about it... I'm still not sure if this is what it was meant to be. Especially since right after that Shepard gets his blank check.

Price had TF141 go dark, so Shepard and US intel had no idea what was going on so they assumed Russia launched the nuke and it was going to blow up the capital.

And yes, air evacs were still occurring and I'm sure Price's EMP did get thousands of people killed because it would have knocked the transports out of sky (including a commercial passager airliner.), but in the process he saved hundreds of thousands if not millions of lives because he crippled the Russian offensive.

Then what's up with the ending? Why is there a battle going on around Taylor when he goes to clean his brain chip?
>>
>>387277112
Blops 1-2 are worth playing through. They probably have the best story alongside the Modern Warfare series. Blops 3 is a different story disconnected from the other 2 though.

MW3 I would say is worth playing through if you want closure on the events of MW1 and 2 but isn't as god as those.

Ghosts I would say is a decent story. The enemy this time is a United South America and the US actually gets fucked up so I kind of liked the underdog feel we had in the campaign.

Advanced Warfare is meh. If you like Kevin Spacey, then that's a plus. Always thought the plot was weird that a single corporation becomes the most powerful entity in the world.

Infinite Warfare is the typical space sci-fi story where its Earth versus the humans from another planet that decided to break off. But it was pretty good.

Most of them had personalities through comedic one-liners and little moments.

Ghost earned his reputation as the funny man of the group with his quips and also that torture scene with the arms dealer's right hand.

You can also tell how stoic and experienced Price is through the observations he makes and his attitude.

The DSM that they retrieved had evidence that linked him to Makarov. Basically, it was a loose end that he needed to gather and then tie up since he conspired with him the entire time.

He then killed what remain of Tf141 as he had the Shadow Company to replace them with full control. The reason for him doing all of this in the first place was because he lost 30 000 men and in his words, while everyone watched.

Him conspiring with Makarov to create the massive war was in a way avenging the 30 000 who were forgotten about (by having much more dead and remembered wut)

Black Ops series.

They were all pretty good. But my favorite stuff to do was in BO2 to go on a mission with both versions of miniguns. And ride a horse while wielding one. That shit's golden.

The Ranger missions were just plain good old Call of Duty. You were hardened elite troops but not super special tier 1 fuckwads on some secret mission to save the world. You were just one squad of soldiers in an army of them fighting another army. While the 141 asswipes were doing dumb ninja missions to stop VIPs from being murdered, the Rangers were fighting off an entire mechanized regiment of Slavs over a couple of fastfood restaurants.
>>
I still believe Reznov is alive in Black Ops timeline. By some virtue. Or nanomachines, idk.

>>387280497
And it all went nowehere in BO3 despite the cliffhanger

>>387276027
3 was fine as far as shooters go in this franchise but 2 and 1 were so much better than it. God damn five years after it came out I'm still surprised that 2 did branching paths as good as it did.

The first one and UO purely for nostalgia

>Using dead cows for cover in St. Mere Englise.
>That car ride with Sgt. Moody
>Saving Price and the other British soldier
>Taking and later defending that bridge in the opening Brit level
>Medal of Honor esque mission where you're in an enemy uniform sabotaging the Tirpitz.
>The entire fucking Russian Campaign

Every single one of United Offensive's campaigns were gold.
>Taking Foy and defending that mansion from the entire German Army in the final American mission
>Fighting off the Luftwaffe in a B-17 in the British campaign
>Trench warfare and the trainyard levels in the Russian

>In that mind-dream sequence, where all that mindfuckery going on, there is another part.
>You see a cloud of Nova-6 gas. It suddenly takes shape.
>It is Reznov, in his WW2 outfit.
>He sees that you are not Mason
>He thinks that you are an ally of Dragovich, and therefore, you must die.
>Battleground is transformed into Stalingrad
>Several more clouds of Nova-6 appear
>They take shape of Nova-6 Mission, Vorkuta, Mason, and BO2 versions of Reznov.
>Now, you fight.
>>
>>387282926
You know, the worst part about the WW2 Simulation in 3 was that the soldiers there were all using guns from the 2070's. One of the neatest things about 2 was that you could take futuristic assault rifles back to the missions in the 1980's.
>>
>>387283183

I'd prefer it where you play as a brainwashed Logan and have Rorke as your commanding officer until the third act where Hesh and company break the brain washing.

Fighting against Americans would be a nice change of pace.

It also had the most solid multiplayer and did introducing women into the series right.

Completely agree. It's a damn shame too. People forget that even as late as 2009-2010 Call of Duty was still at the forefront of the genre. But after Activision gutted Infinity Ward and kicked out Zampella and West, IW stopped trying to make a new great game and started trying to recapture what made the old ones good. That's why MW3 makes no sense. That's why Ghosts feels like a retread of every other game. That's why even thought the single player at least tried, Infinite Warfare's multiplayer was a carbon copy of BO3.

>>387285590
