Classic Link, TP, and SS Links are all really good. OoT Link looks like a prep boy, and while I don't dislike WW as a game, I'm not fond of Toon Link.

Where are you in the story? Honestly, it's not for everyone. The story is certainly what you should be playing it for; if the exploration and gameplay aren't interesting, you should put it down.
That said, it's a fairly short game, so you might as well finish it.

ALttP does open up significantly after you get the Master Sword and finish the first dungeon of the Dark World. However, if you haven't liked the core gameplay up to this point, you might not enjoy it going forward.
It's possible that the 2D games aren't for you. I recommend trying out ALBW for a modernised version of ALTTP with a tighter storyline. If you like that, I have others to recommend. Link's Awakening has been cited as a primary influence for the development of OoT's storyline, but you might not like the gameplay considering its differences.

I recommend the recommendation for ALBW. It's easily the single best introduction to 2D Zelda games for modern players. If you have a 3DS, I can't recommend it enough.

If you don't like it, that's fine, too. The game is based heavily in ALttP and can be seen as a remake, so at least get through the first few dungeons. Once you get past the first act of the game (it'll be obvious) the game really opens up and you can see the distinctions.

Spirit Tracks Link, Wind Waker Link and Majora Link. Three of the better Links. Honorable mention to Zelda II Link, which is Zelda I Link.
