I actually liked AM2R and beat it, but people's hellbent attachment to this fan game is out of control, and they literally forget why it was made in the first place: it wasn't trying to compete with Nintendo, it was trying to celebrate the Metroid series and keep the series alive. Boycotting Samus Returns out of devotion to AM2R is literally the exact opposite of what DoctorM64 intended when he made AM2R.
