Why is this game so bad? I played free weekend and I honestky have no idea if I liked it or not. Fighting itself is amazingly fun, duels are lit as fuck, animations are the best I've ever seen in medieval combat games, character design stroked my ironclad armored dudes fetish hard.

If a game has no playerbase it has no playerbase-produced content. This is especially true about multiplayer games (the ones that started this discussion).
Singleplayer games can be an exception with low playerbase and high amount of produced content because they're carried by the memes (Boshi, for example). Multiplayer games can't.
So instead of trying to compare subjective and unreliable metrics like viewer count (or the feelgood moments someone had playing Quakre 15 years ago) the only objective measure of popularity is player count.

It is when some characters get more out of it than others. For example, Orochi can only really use it to make his running slash unparriable, but that one is so slow you were probably just going to move out of the way anyway, and if your an assassin, you can just deflect it which you were probably going to do anyway.

Nobushi on the other hand can use it to throw out fast lights that bleed without fear of getting parried, allowing her to overwhelm opponents.
