ARMS is not to fighting games what Splatoon was for shooters. It's only fun at peak party chaos, there's no fun to playing it for competition's sake.

This. I was actually pretty excited for it, then I got a chance to play it. Made the month before Splat 2 difficult, though.

I'm usually incredibly careful when I buy games and try not to waste my money on something I don't think appeals to me. I stupidly didn't play the testfire and still bought it. It's by far the biggest buyers remorse I have ever had. This game is boring, soulless and terrible on so many different levels.

I only finished the arcade mode with regulat controller. Not even the punching gimmick saved the monotone as fuck gameplay

How did Nintendo get away with these boring games two months in a row, and still make a killing on them?

OP here. I will say that while the actual game bores me, I like the fighters a lot. I'll be checking in every time they add a new one. But with that said, I'm really not invested in this game at all (as much as I wanted to be. I really believed in this game for a moment). It's just not that fun.
