Ubi's fault for not setting rules against these exploits in the first place. Plenty of tournaments set limits based on balance and exploits, they should have done the same.

I really hope they pull a siege and they improve for honor. It has so much potential and they are already halfway there by adding dedicated servers and with the new characters. A couple of new game modes and buggies and I'd probably play this way more. But it's ubisoft so I'm not expecting much

you should see the exploits that happen in Dota and CSGO tournaments. fountain hook pudge exploit was what made na'vi win thousands of dollars.
>>
>>387150745
Yeah. When it happens in a tourney, they patch it right after. They should have been DQ'd though.
>>
>>387148723
>>Not disqualifying him for exploiting
for what reason?
if the exploit isnt banned you cant disqualify. If the organizers decide it's a shitty move and cant do that only after seeing it, then its a rematch.

See the fnatic illegal boost
http://www.gosugamers.net/counterstrike/news/29193-dreamhack-winter-2014-admins-rule-fnatic-s-overpass-boost-illegal-fnatic-retaliate
admins deemed it illegal only 6 hours after the match and wanted it to be replayed.
Issue here is that the bug was kept secret by teams and valve didnt know, UBI was lazy and didnt give two shits for a known exploit
>>
>Play For Honor
>Play any mode that isn't 1v1
>People are treating fights like duels regardless and refuse to help their teammates
Damn the playerbase sure is fucking stupid.
>>
>>387148723
It's up to the game developers to patch the game before competitive events if there is a problem with the state of balance.
>>
>>387149872
It was p2p. Dedicated servers are coming later this season i think
>>
if the feature is in the game, and that version is the one used in the tournament, the ones in the wrong are the organizers and the devs

the other players could also use the exploit, but they didn't because they probably didn't know about it

his victory is cheap, but it is totally legal
>>

that is every tournament for every game
i don't know for honor well enough to say whether this was actually worth pointing out or not
but every game has exploits that never get fixed and it just becomes part of the game especially when there is money on the line
one of the many reasons why "esports" as a competition is a joke. though the bigger issue remains that dota 2 is still the only game that pays enough to actually draw the best players out. every other scene is basically just exploiting the most desperate wannabes

What nobushi exploit is there? I know the shinobi can do that super fast dash exploit which is broken as hell but I only see it maybe once every 20 games, and the kensei can unlock his heavy combo that makes it unparryable.

Also this game is still my favorite for 2017, I don't understand the hate aside from the P2P shit which thankfully is getting dedicated server next patch.

I think it's actually because the game lacks lobbies and 4v4 is a way to have multiple duels against different opponents which is more interesting than fighting only a single opponent 3-5 times and then having to wait for 30 minutes again. At least that's the impression I got from the free weekend.

I play a lot of Day of Infamy and RS2 Vietnam. The latter tops out at about 1.500 players in primetime and the former half of that. I don't think every multiplayer game needs PUBG numbers at all times, but I hate how that image shows why companies fuck over everybody so often. They already got their $60 from those people, and they probably don't care that almost 70% won't ever touch the game again after a month.

I played the game in both free weekends, back in the open beta and this week, and they didn't manage to change or fix a single thing. The game still disbands your group if a match starts without enough players (and reinviting everyone doesn't work half of the time because lol p2p). You still can't select all match modes on the map sometimes (with a controller). It doesn't surprise me at all that there are game-breaking exploits in the game.
>>
>>387168465
I bought it through uplay because why would I get double ass raped by DRM when I could choose to use only one. also ubisoft tend give awau games with graphics cards promotion and stuff, that's always through uplay. there's probably more uplay players than people give credit for.

that being said the game is fucking dead

Remember years ago during The International Navi used a hook exploit to win a crucial finals game, and after the match ended the officials told them they were no longer allowed to use the exploit or they'd be disqualified, said exploit was patched after the tournament ended.
>>
>>387169285
Because not all characters can utilize the exploit or defend against it, leading to a vastly unbalanced roster like in Super Fox Brothers Only

some exploits became features, it couldve been they didnt remove the chen/pudge combo since they reason missing a hook would be very punishing as well.

Difference is the exploits that make you invulnerable or unkillable are banned. Wave dashing is such a minor glitch that banning it would have almost no effect on the standings of actual players. It would only make trash characters even worse. The only reason Luigi, Mewtwo, and Samus have any viability whatsoever is because of wavedashing. If you removed it Peach, Marth, and Falco would just dominate even more. Fox would take a hit, but it wouldn't kill his game.

No, Ubisoft loves money, as evident by the truck loads they get from the idiots that buy their products like Siege, For Honor, Watch Dogs, Far Cry and the next Assassin's Creed that will play identical to the last one.

Like, they do the bare minimum work, never innovating or trying something new and they STILL get plenty of business because people fall for their products that pander directly to western audiences.

buggier mess than for honor lol. enjoy that netcode and hit reg dude
>>
>>387175060
Why try to innovate when you can get guaranteed profit by sticking to the formula? It's a business, not a collection of hobbyists.

Meleefags have been abusing exploits for the past 15 years. What's the problem?
>>
>>387175117
Part of the reason I stopped playing Siege is because of the netcode. Seems like I was getting shot from around corners without even seeing the dude. Thought my reactions were trash until I watched some video explaining the siege netcode. It's so trash. I'm essentially at a half second disadvantage at all times.
>>
>>387175420
The only exploit you can abuse and net free wins are all on trash characters that have to work for them anyways. Ice Climbers are trash and the only way they can win is with wobbling which is incredibly hard to do mid match. Ness is shit and his up smash bug isn't that overpowered because you have to play Ness and it takes tons of practice to remember where the hit box is.

If you're referring to wave dashing then shut up because it's not even that amazing. It just makes the pace of the game faster. Guaranteed there are better wave dashers than Mango or Hbox, but they'll never ever beat them because wave dashing isn't a game breaking glitch. It just makes movement easier and increases your defensive and offensive options.

>miss
watch any of the dozens of hit reg compilations on youtube lol
>upping the tick rate
from 50 to 60 (after they said in february it was already raised to 60. turns out they lied), which A) won't do anything and B) isn't even the issue with the hit reg. hit reg problem in this game has nothing to do with server tick, it's how the game's network code is written (which they already admitted they have to rewrite huge chunks of to make any significant improvements; see first invitational interview with the lead network developer)

This. It's the only reason I tend to give Ubi the benefit of the doubt, outside of their main series which we know will turn out to just be a standard Ubi formula.

Honorfags who insist that every mode is meant to be played as duels fucking ruin all team based modes, but what's even worse is that the devs and community managers on their official forums defend honorfagging and refuse to punish it
>Get fucking furious over honorfagging, make several threads on their official forums asking why it's allowed, since it's obviously griefing and they have a report button for griefing
>"WELL YOU SEE, THEM STANDING BACK AND WATCHING YOU GET EXECUTED AS YOU SIGNAL FOR HELP ISN'T INTENTIONALLY GRIEFING, THEY'RE JUST PLAYING HOW THEY WANT TO :^)"
Seriously, this shit infuriates me. Duels is nothing but sweaty tryhards using only the most broken characters and moves, and team based modes are plagued with honorfags who refuse to act as a team

Guess they should ban bunny hopping in CS tournaments too then.

If it's in the game and available to all then it's fair game. Even if it's unintentional.
