Buggy, unstable servers with alot of bullshit moments. You will either die instantly or run around for 30 minutes doing nothing. The winner is determined by who finds a scope first, as it is 90% open fields.

Solo is aweful. Duo can be fun. Squads are where it's at. Only pla with friends or you get 13 year olds who saw their favorite streamer buy it, or trolls

4x scope is about as much magnification you need. Red dot is my go to and have one all my games with using red dot alone.

Bretty gud, but if you aren't ok with getting memed on (read ambushed) then it's not for you.
A strength is that solos, duos, and squads all player very differently.
It probably has the best shooting mechanics for this style of game.
Ques are always instant and dying just means you can start a new match, which is very nice, so technically there is now downtime between matches.
You can generally choose how much action you want. Drop in popular hotspots for instant action and tense urban fighting, or drop somewhere out of the way and hoof it seeing about 0-2 people before hitting the later part of the round.

Also, 8gb of ram is fine, but not having this game on a SSD is not acceptable.

If you dont get at least 10 kills COMBINED as a squad you're just playing like pussies for no reason. Even 10 kills is being lenient. Sometimes killing is necessary since loot is hit or miss if you dont drop in military or other well known loot drops.

What it does do is take an old formula (see dayz) and refine it down cutting out huge portions of unfun slog and putting it into a nice package with matchmaking and instant ques so that you can just keep playing the good parts of survival/trekking/looting/pvp game without all the actual frustrating boring stuff.

To some degree. Gear isn't as important as your shooting skills and tactics since the mid-tier gear isn't hard to get. But if you want the good stuff, you will be fighting other players/squads for it.
It's not less challenging, it's a shift in challenge from looting being the focus, to the actual fights being the focus.
