Not a sequel. It's a spiritual sucessor like NEIR for the Drakengard series. It was suppose to try and gauge whether or not Parasite Eve could be resurrected.

That's why it's called "The 3rd Birthday" and NOT Parasite Eve 3.

I paid $1.99 and legit tried to get my money back. I'll never understand why this series has a cult following. The gameplay was terrible, and the story was sasuke eternal mangekyo edgelord tier.

FFX-2 has by far the best gameplay of any turn-based FF game.
The story might be dreck, but the game is fun as fuck
