Obviously realism is the goal in all real time graphics but it's all the more important in VR. Even with the lower resolution, you notice small things that look 'fake' all the more easily, meaning they'll have to go into way finer details in future.

Funny thing is it's the Photogrammetry stuff that gives me the most eerie feeling of being 'there'. Even though it's blurry and full of errors, it's like wondering through a 3D collage of photos.

That's what Photogrammetry is. Though their's is more detailed.

I wish photogrammetry was easier to get into. Right now you have to either rely on cloud services like Autodesk Remake or go through multiple programs, making point clouds, cleaning them, converting them to mess and then cleaning them some more.

Thing I wonder about is, since some of these pads use a harness around the hips, could you have upward lift on them to reduce the player's weight on his legs?

A lot of the speculation is that nobody will be able to play games where you can run around a lot without tiring out. Making them feel lighter would help against that.
