You can pay with gold to reset all of your skills at any time now, you get something like 300 AP in every talent just for ranking them, a lot of content in general is easier these days, there are constant events that pretty much only help new players (like the demonic weapon rental events that seem to come back every other month), there's a special system set up for players to request help from others, etc.

Between both daily SMs, commerce, and the revamped dungeons, even if you're at a low total level you should be able to get a bit higher than 50 without putting in too much work. Best to try and find a decent guild to play with, one that can run you through MA and Elites real quick.

Not across the board, but as far as I know pretty much every skill has gotten reworked at some point. Also we get training events all the time and you can reset your skills with gold now, so it's pretty easy to master pretty much everything that is CP based. Ninja and Dual Gun are still a fucking NIGHTMARE though and I fucking hate everyone for complaining about CP requirements in all the years leading up to those skillsets dropping.

You could wait the day out until night to use it, and even it was always one random location per night. While it gave the player a chance to just take it easy and travel, it also forced the player to actually run it out to another location and explore the world for himself. Hell, while waiting you could raise your skills, and since these skills took time on it own, you could just chat with people

The last time i replayed Mabinogi, moongates didn't even respect their names, you could take them any time you want and teleport anywhere you please which totally get rid of the proper purpose of the moongate.

It's like a bunch of adhd folks got hold of the game and made it so everything can be done in a rush when the game is all about a comfy world

Main thing is the "the Returned" title which gives you 2x skill training exp, which stacks with talent, potions, and events. I remember just starting the game and struggling with that quest where you have to get a ring or something from one of the many snowmen in sidhe sneachta, before they made it more obvious. I met another guy doing the same thing and we kept getting rekt by the coyotes. So we'd take shifts, one going out to check snowmen and the other tending to the campfire. One of the comfiest experiences I've had in gaming.

Getting the transformation as a giant/knife ears was pure suffering, needing to complete a finished statue dungeon to do so.

Then again so was the G2 quest, having to do that bangor dungeon like 7 times in a row.

But shit, G2 actually had a decent plot after that very start. They weren't afraid at all the pull punches or have ruari fuck everything up.

In truth, and this part isn't addressed in the game, but in background lore, one of the ancestor races (I can't remember if it was the Tuatha de Danans or whatever the other one was) fled from Tir Na Nog to the game world to escape the cataclysm that caused it to become the way it is now.

The cataclysmic event is the events of Vindictus. Its why Vindictus is stated to be a prequel game, because it takes place in Tir Na Nog and is the story of how it gets fucked up.
Which is even more poignant because in Vindictus everyone is trying to get to Tir Na Nog, and when they eventually "do" to escape the cataclysm they wind up in exactly the kind of place they just left.
