Can I be FUCKING real for a second?

This community is fucking atrocious right now. You're all acting like a bunch of whiny, entitled little babies.

A tiny team of people made an entire universe for you to explore. They made it for YOU, and they're going to wake up tomorrow morning and see that instead of enjoying it, this community of "fans" picked out the 3 or 4 things that weren't perfect and are using that to fucking riot.

Guess what? The game was never going to be perfect. It was never going to live up to your hype. It was never going to be everything you'd ever want in a game.

What it WAS going to be was an impossibly big universe filled with mysteries and weird shit. I just played it for 2 hours and it was exactly that. What more do you want?

Is it buggy? Sure. Is it repetitive? Maybe. Is the inventory system imperfect and the multiplayer feature questionable and the structure unclear? Sure, fine.

But holy shit what do these people OWE YOU?

How fucking entitled do you have to be to explore an infinite universe in a spaceship and then say "yeah but..."

We should all be fucking weeping in our chairs right now at the sheer size and scale of the achievement. We should be showering the people behind this thing with the praise they deserve for pulling off one of the most inspiring games in recent memory.

Hello Games doesn't owe you the world. Yet they gave you 18 QUINTILLION of them.

If you have the fucking audacity to complain about it then you don't deserve it and you were never fans in the first place.

This game, man.

I barely thought it would live up to the hype, let alone exceed it. I've been playing for four hours straight across only two systems and about five planets/moons, and it has been absolutely and utterly humbling. My breath is being taken away at every turn.

I just drowned trying desperately to make my way out of a dark underwater cave on a cold, lonely, massive planet, with ominous growling startling me from far across some rocky, eroded mountains against the backdrop of a massive dark blue system. Earlier I was marveling at a herd of grazing antelope-like creatures on a little yellow paradise of a moon with a pink sky. Creatures were screeching in the distance and tinkling piano chords played in the background.

I very much appreciate the technical and leveling aspects such as mining and trading, but most of all, this game has been an extremely emotional experience for me so far. I could barely pull myself away from my first system once I acquired the warp cell. No matter what I'm looking at, I have this excitement and this wonder and frustration that I am inevitably missing so much. I have never, EVER felt this lost. Space just beckons, wordlessly. What a beautiful, beautiful, titanic game. I have no words.

Enjoy, everyone. And thank you, Sean and Hello Games. Jeez Louise.

1 Year in and still no: planetary orbits, actual stars/suns, freighters being shot down, a form of hacking, actual multiplayer, planets/creatures becoming "weirder and more alien" the closer you get to the center, a non cop out piece of fucking shit end goal that is a glorified new game+ button that does jack shit, sand worms, landing on asteroids, destructible space stations, huge space battles consisting of warring factions in which you can choose sides, a large amount of structures and building types just not present as advertised, intelligent creature AI, physics that affect trees and the environment around said creatures, solar eclipses, crashed underwater ships, bioluminescent planets, roaming sentinel walkers, AI ships landing on planets not only trade posts, the ability to fly from system to system without using a warp drive, and that's just the shit I remember compared to what we currently have with all the updates combined, literally the only update that has even somewhat addressed the core issues the game has had since day fucking 1 is the most recent one Atlas Rises, is it really such a fucking surprise people are STILL pissed at this game? As if the consumers who purchased said product are in the wrong holy shit the delusion
>>
It's $24 on steam right now. The devs seem to still be supporting it, and most reviews are stating the game is at launch-day expectations (One year later). For $24, would this be worth it? Has anyone actually played the game on 1.3?

I'll clue you in on a little something, the ONLY people saying that this game is anywhere near what was promised over 3 years ago are the HG cocksucking reddit faggots who have all collectively deluded themselves into believing this game is anywhere near what was advertised and promised, the game is "better" sure, but it still needs massive work, it's PAINFULLY obvious that the original release was literally just an Early Access game, and a fuck awful one at that, there's potential, but it's nowhere near it yet
>>
Anyone who bought this game is actually damaging gaming as a whole.

The least they could fucking do is support the game they originally scammed people into buying, it's funny because I almost want to say they're among the cooler developers for releasing "FREE CONTENT" patches (as they love to point to) but they even fuck that up because it's content that not only barely addresses the problems still plaguing the game from the second some stupid cuck who payed over $1000 got his hands on it only to be disappointed before everyone else, but it's content that should've been in day 1, not 8 to 12 months later, it could be a genuinely good game another year from now
>>
>>387103073
I haven't played since the patch prior to the freighters/houses/buggies update but prior to that the base game is just awful. Your first area will most likely be great unless you start on an area filled with no life and you'll feel like there's so much to see, but once you actually take off and fly to a new planet and realize all the basic elemental flowers all look nearly the exact same as on 50 other planets, how much insane grinding needs to be done to get 48 slot ships and 24 slot multi tools, and how much micromanaging you need to do anything it'll drive you insane. Hell, trying to get 100% animals on a world can either take 5 minutes or 5 hours, no joke.

The 60 or 80 hours I put into the game diligently hunting out words from each culture meant the most I could understand was 3 words in any encounter at best. Ship hunting is mind numbing let alone ship part hunting, and when you realize how horrible farming warp cells to get to the Atlas centers is you'll want to drop the game.

What makes matters worse is I heard they patched the jetpack melee glitch (The one where you punch + sprint + boost) so now you lose any measure of traversing at a reasonable speed unless you have the buggies now which means you need to get out of it every time you want to farm. I paid either $20 or $40 for it (B2G1 50% deal) and I wouldn't recommend it, even if they tried to fix some of the issues the base problems are that it's a nightmare to get anything you actually want and you're constantly given the middle finger when wanting to do anything, and anything they do add just means more grinding, and if you want to see anything new you stop feeling that "newness" after about 5 planets since lots of things look the same. If you want a game to take screenshots them by all means, but it's not a good game.

>>
remember how they said the closer to the center you got the weirder the creatures and biomes became?

remember those factions they said would be ingame?

remember when they said each space ship is built specifically for certain task, like fighting, exploring, etc?

remember when they built 3 scripted planets to showcase their game at e3?
>>
>>387104748
Give me a second I need to drum up some support from my faction before I head any farther. The area near the center is controlled by an enemy faction. Maybe they'll let me borrow a few ships If I set up a few trade routes for them.
>>
>>387104115
Ah, yeah, the base game wasn't worth $24. I played it at launch, but it didn't have enough content to make me want to explore any of the mechanics. I was hoping the latest patch would make it worthwhile. The more I'm reminded of the base game the less appealing it seems though. The patch notes also seem kinda vague so I'm not entirely sure what was added/changed, but I'll just watch some streams to be sure. Thanks for the input.

Good thinking buddy! I cant get into elite dangerous for some reason, or what the point is in that game, but I love the scale and visuals. No mans sky could be so much better if they dropped the gay pop sci style and made everything a little more like real space. Darker, with orbiting planets, gas giants, ringed planets, planets with different gravity would even help. Goddamn theyre so dumb at hello games but I want it to work

I have never once had this happen in at least a dozen successful starts. This game has plenty of flaws, but the opening survival sprint to your ship works as intended.
>>
>>387111109
No, still 1 biome per planet.

You get a desert planet, its staying desert, ice planet, better enjoy the cold
>>
>>387111218
You respawn at the nearest respawn point and your "corpse" is marked. When you reach it, you get all the shit you were carrying back.
>>
>>387111293
I had it happen twice in a row. Started me on a flat fucking surface, nearest cave with 2.5min away sprinting. First got 60 Rad, next planet was 57 degree Celsius.
>>
>>387111317
Then procedual is below minecraft, AMAZING... MY MIND IS BLOWN.
>>387111221
Then go back to /n/ fag.
>>
>>387111317
>all deserts planets are now shit because they don't have random terraforming or out of place green spots

star wars confirmed for sean murray shit
>>
>>387111408
Ever since an early hotfix patch it generates you right next to a protected structure, use that as a base to fix your scanner, then scavenge around it for zinc and platinum before you run at the objective like a dumbass.
>>
>>387111439
>>387111440
Even better, Night and Day cycles absolutely do NOT matter at all. Creatures dont have a nocturnal cycle, temperatures stay the same whether its night or day, even weather has no affect on the environment. 40 degree celsius, it starts raining, it stays 40 fucking degrees celsius

Announcing sage in a post is ban worthy. Also, he just wants to talk about videogames. You know, the whole point of this board, faggot. We've got plenty of other threads for fiery memers like you
>>

are you always this anal about your video games?
>>
> what would you like to see in the future?

Not this game
>>
>>387111786
Nope, just ones that are built on lies and broken promises
>>
>>387111717
wrong on temperature not changing. Theres literally a warning called extreme night temperatue. Theres also certain animals you see at day or night too.

I have yet, in 20+ hours of play since update and 6 different planets with 6 different biomes, seen ANY difference from day to night.
>>
>>387112010
Try a desert planet. You know, the ones that are supposed to change temperature at night?
>>
>>387111946
>Lack of sandworms

Actually...

>>387112058
My first planet was a desert planet. Standing out in the open, near no shelter point, it was 44 celsius in the day, lowest it dropped at night was 42 celsius
>>
>>387112010
nigger theres even a song from the ost called extreme night temperature

Its not a "proper" sandworm mind you, it was literally a wagging tail coming out of the sand in shape of a worm that never moves from that spot.
>>
>>387112415
All of those are in. The only thing they fucked up on was the multi, which I really don't care about.
>>
>>387112384
There is nothing in either of those links that states anything about temperature change at night versus day
>>
>>387112531
I may play it then honestly, I have a maxed out ship and multitool. Was fun till the ending. If that stuff is in the game it may be actually fun.
>>
>>387112375
>people talking about a video game in a topic
Look at all those threads, is more like a "defense force" rather than an actual discussion about the game.
If there are soooo many if you, you should make a general in /vg/ then intead of 5 threads.
Or better yet, go back to pleddit.
>>
>>387112685
>>387112685
Where in the fuck do you see a defense force? It's a bunch of spergs freaking out over a game they either haven't played at all or played for 15 minutes a year ago. People are trying to talk about a video game and this bothers you.
And for fuck's sake quit projecting with the leddit thing.
>>
>>387112585
holy fucking shit youre full of it. Im literally on an ice planet right now. The temp shifted from 11.2 to 30.6 from night to day

You seem like one, and quite butthurt.
Maybe if you gave your respects to indra this morning you could had a better day, and play the game instead of shitposting here, just sayan.

>then proceed to shitpost all day
Its a pattern, not a projection.

ill take off screen pics since im playing on ps4 gimme a sec takes a bit to shift from day to night again

Hello Sean.
>>
Just pirate it you niggers
>>
>>387100826
As someone who hasn't played the game and is unlikely to purchase it unless at a steep discount, I'd ask a question. How big was the gap between what Murray, Hello Games, and Sony promised and what was actually delivered at launch? How much of that gap has been closed through addition of new features as time went by? Lastly, would you say the game delivers on all their promises now?

It's cool that there making an effort, but the issue is the core gameplay

It's repetitive and boring, and honestly with the creatures being a big draw to the game, they fucking suck

Unless you mod the game they're only like 4m high, and even then they do nothing. They just walk around in a circle.

The first few hours are pretty fun as it's all new but you'll swiftly realise there's nothing more to the game.

Oh and the story is shit
