Is it weird that I just keep the cute girls I like on my team as much as possible without regard for how good they are?

I haven't used Machias, Gaius, or Elliot and barely used Jusis when forced to.

Was hoping for a LOHS 1 thread, just beat the game clocking in exactly 56 hours. Just started a new game+ on nightmare mode. My ending average level was about 64-65, also I skipped a lot of side content.

Fucking loved the game though, can't wait for the sequel to drop on Steam.

I feel bad that I didn't hardly use Machias at all in my playthrough. My main party consisted of Rean, Elliot, Laura, and Crow/Jusis. Though I've come to learn that Machias is a great utility/support character, and apparently Fie has the highest speed in the game along with the best S-craft in the game because of it's range and power.

I'll probably do a new party consisting of Rean, Fie, Machias, and Elliot. Though I gave Elliot a bunch of healing/support quartz and made him my main healer, might turn him into a pure mage instead since that's probably what he is suppose to be. Machias is more of the healer of the game, and he can break armor just like Laura can. Granted his STR is not nearly as high as Laura, but he has fucking high defense. I saw Machias more as a tank/healer if anything, and he can inflict status ailments on enemies as well.

God, I just loved everything about this game, the second game can't come soon enough. And I didn't really have a favorite character, like I enjoyed Rean but Jusis was kind of cool I guess. Also enjoyed Crow until he became a backstabbing faggot

Fie and Laura are great characters though, and Gaius is kind of just there, not sure what he's good at. I guess he has high evasion and decent STR/HP but that's it, Fie is better though. Now of course Machias, Elliot, and Jusis have their own strengths. Jusis can cast Noble Command which is arguably the best party buff in the game, and Elliot has great healing crafts like Resounding Beat and Holy Song so it can keep you alive. Alisa has Holy Arrow or whatever which grants the party insight and helps them regain CP a lot faster so you can just spam S-crafts.

There is no real arguable "best party" you could clear the game with any party combination if you know the basics of combat. Really it just depends on what combination you like, and as I said in my earlier post you can nitpick the strengths of each character and build a party centered around what you're going for. You want all magic? All strength? High speed? High evasion? A mixture of magic and strength? You can do whatever depending on which quartz you give people.

Frankly I don't know what the best quartz layout is for each character, I just gave Rean and everyone else in my party quartz that I thought would be good on them, for all I know I have horrible set-ups on them.

Any tips for starting out in this game? Or do I just wing it and use whatever quartz.

Yes, I bought Towa's game.

I have around 70 hours into the game, I'm at chapter 4 in the side-quest to find the little girl's cat. Just got trough the part were Fie and Laura become friends, it was cute. Also, the game became really easy after chapter 3, the last hard battle I had was against the stone golem in the highlands.

I played on Hard since the previous Trails games were too easy for me. I'm pretty much just putting a bunch of the on attack quartz(Byakko, Seiryuu, Breakers, etc) on Fie with a bunch of speed and watching her murder everything by hitting them 20 times before they get a turn in, and when they do they're blinded/sealed/muted etc.

Not him, but I just started a new game+ on nightmare, I was too much of a wimp to start on nightmare from the get-go. Considering I had never played the game before so I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of difficulty, but I will admit the game is really easy on normal mode. I only died a few times and that was to that faggot Necromancer boss with it's retarded abilities. Also the final boss killed me a few times, but that was about it. For the most part I beat each boss on my first try, and I don't think I was over-leveled or anything.

Am i the only one who knew Crow was a bad guy from the moment you find out the big bad is named "C"

I keep alt-tabbing to /v/ while the game runs, also I like exploring and talking to NPCs to see what changed and just use turbo to walk long distances and fight enemies I already fought once.

Should Trails games be made harder? It feels weird that I barely grinded anything and am not even using consumables and still breezing through every boss in Hard. The last boss I fought got like 3 attacks in.

Pretty shocking to me at least, though I did feel like he was kind of suspicious at first. The game didn't tell you a lot about his backstory or reasons for coming to the academy, I think that was my first tip-off I noticed. Also he had no real interest in Thor's or attending classes, it didn't bother him at all if he skipped classes and now it makes sense why that is.

Well if you know how to cheese fights then it's easy to fuck up bosses, for instance have Jusis cast Chrono burst or whatever, and then have him double cast Noble Command so it stacks. Afterwards you can just have Alisa cast Holy arrow and give the whole party insight so they regain CP each turn, and then if you have the domination quartz on someone then their first attack will do 20% bonus damage on top of all the buffs.

Not to mention you can give people high evasion and speed so each attack misses them, and there is a quartz that makes every counter attack into a critical strike. So if you have high evasion then you'll just keep dodging and then critical striking them as a counter attack. Also you can just keep delaying attacks as well.

There is a lot of customization you can do but each character has set crafts and stat growth. You can modify the spells they can use, and the quartz system allows you to customize a lot.

The combat is pretty fun but it's very easy. Unless you're a complete baby with RPGs you should be playing at least on Hard.

Took me around ~110 hours to finish the first trilogy. I liked it and wanted more, but as time goes on and more and more hours of playtime are added to the series it feels like I'm recommending people go to work if they wanna play it 'properly'.
