I got rid of my last CRT back in 2007, because there was something messed up with its image and I wanted to get a HD television. I don't regret it because it really was a piece of shit, but recently I've been seriously thinking about getting a CRT TV to go along with my retro consoles. It's just suprisingly hard to find those good models anywhere, it's all cheap-ass shit everywhere.

It's still taking up space, I should throw it away because I don't use it for anything. I'm fine with paying for the games again to play on a good TV.

Never owned a console, but I would guess it's that a CRT can display lower than native resolutions correctly.
LCDs have a fixed resolution, lower res is achieved by having a group of adjacent pixels all display the same color which looks ugly and blurred.

It's not perfect for everything (virtually zero scanlines), but boy do 5th and 6th gen games look nice on it, I'd say better than a PVM.

I have an OLED television and it assfucks every other screen type in existence when you feed them HD material and compare the image quality, but it still has the same problem that every other flatscreen has had since the beginning: anything really lowres looks fucking horrible in it. Even the cheapest CRT handles old games better than it.

Found a 1024x768 CRT monitor on the side of the road, unfortunately power cable was missing and VGA cable was missing pins. There is still to this day nothing better than CRTs. They are objectively superior tech for gaming. I wish they never stopped making them.

I don't regret, but I do miss that TV some times. Worked my ass off as a teenager to get my first HDTV when I was a young teenager.
