That's not PvE, you get to play as a Scav and Scavs won't shoot you unless you shoot them, you're still fighting other players doing normal raids.

I find it pretty fun and intense. I wish there were more AI to shoot and loot. I'd also wish the crates I find actually had useful shit in them. The most useful stuff I found so far was a bunch of medical supplies when I was Scaving in Shoreline.

It's one of the very few games - and the only MMO that I know of - where I can pack a mag full of AP ammo, and then have the last 5 rounds be tracer ammo.

You can also pack slug/shot/slug combos into the shotguns. Of all the shit that I give it, the gun customization and modding I actually wholeheartedly enjoy and endorse. I just wish there wasn't a retarded-ass levelling system slapped haphazardly on top of it.

Nope, reflexes aren't what will let you win against the faggot in full gear. You need positioning and the element of surprise. Sometimes you'll meet the fucker in a corridor and you don't have much chance, but you can definitely alter the odds of a favourable encounter for you. Doesn't matter what armour the guy has, there is no leg armour as of now, if you fire a mag into some guy's leg, he will die, even a Makarov mag. Once a bodyparts hits 0hp any subsequent damage has a rather high chance of instantly killing you, and that chance increases as damage past 0 piles up. Sure odds aren't in your favour but remember you lose a shitty Makarov if you die, the other guy loses 50-150k worth of equipment if he dies.

Armour is overpowered right now but it's more of an issue for people with shotguns and ARs (especially at range). If you have a pistol you shouldn't engage unless you got the drop on him and can take out his legs anyway. Hopefully they will add internal damage so faggots in armour can't take a shogun blast to the chest without organs rupturing, unlike now.

They were terminators and a pistol scav was scarier than a player with an AK and a scope.

I think they changed some distance setting so they weren't 180 one tapping you at 200m, so now its easy to kill them at range. However theres still a lot of the 180 headshot going on at cqc distances like in the hallways in factory.

But they're much better now.

no, you drop in a map with maybe 8 other players and scavs(npcs) and either kill each other, kill npcs, or loot boxes in buildings or outside. Then you run to one of the few extraction zones in the map and if you don't get killed you get to take whatever you loot you got and put it back in your stash. Then you pick another map and do the same thing again.

From what I've heard from the "dev" the other anon was talking about, they might be adding in better stuff to the various crates, including weapons and higher tier loot. But yeah, right now you're better off searching the possible in-world weapon spawn locations than any of the crates.

Yeah, it's dumb that literally none of the crates have any chance to spawn weapons, most of the time you'll find like 12 bullets of 3 different types and maybe one magazine.

I think they should make crates give better loot depending on location and how many crates are by it.

There's places where you just find one crate all by itself with nothing around it, and maybe that'll just be the low end where it only has a few bullets and a mag.

But there's spots where the searchable crate is next to like 15 crates, like in the dorms, and that should be stacked, have weapons, ammo, mags, grenades, ect.

The sound system is v nice, barring for when it glitches out a bit.

The game keeps track of your character's body orientation, and when you look over to the side enough it makes your character adjust his posture which can make a foot scraping noise depending on the surface you're on. Lots of little thoughtful things like that, leading to some tense soundplay if you realize someone's trying to sneak up on you.

Same with the meds too. People shouldn't be able to instantly recover their gunshot wounds like they can now in a few seconds like it's COD. There should be a healing animation, and it should take like 30 seconds to remove a status effect, and 1 second per hp recovered delay.

I think the team play is in a weird spot. Queuing up needs to allow you to spawn in the same spot. I'm sure once I learn maps better me and some friends can do better callouts to know where we are but it can be difficult to figure out if the person coming around the corner is a friend or foe until we confirm on mic but at that point we could be dead. It's hard to properly initiate team play. Perhaps they need a better way to tell if someone is in your squad or not.
