The dream sequence dark monsters were scary as fuck, Pumba and every other sequence in the game wasn't scary at all, you always know that the only way you fail is to mess up the puzzle you're doing, or combat.

Did anyone find a good use for the charge heavy attack once you get Odin's sword?

The voices are really good for immersion and atmosphere. It kept me on edge and made me feel generally anxious and creeped out, as well as being a good way to explore part of Senua's character and situation.

And in a pretty genius way they're very useful in fights, often telling you "focus!", "behind you!", "evade!" etc. to help you out, as well as still being creepy as fuck.

Technically there's a tiny bit, as Hela, the underworld goddess, is kinda naked, but she has a white, charred body and doesn't really look human at all, more like a giant moving, cracked statue. I'm not even sure if you can actually see anything like nipples etc.

It's like calling an ancient greek statue NSFW because the woman has a tit out. Yes there's nudity but it's not gratuitous or sexual in any way, and you almost never see it.

Fenrir was just a really cool fight all around.

The game is so full of really powerful moments like that. I went in expecting a shitty walking simulator but I got a really well executed story and some badass fights. Pic related. The music in this sequence made my dick hard.

The combat system felt way more advanced then the enemies, so most of it was under-utilized.

You could beat everyone with dodge-dodge attack.

They needed more variety of enemies to force you to use all the tools in your moveset, wide horizontal swings to fuck up dodge spammers etc.

The combat movements look great and feel great, but you just had no reason to use most of it.

It's great how you go from being cautious and freaked out at the start to just tearing the shit out of everyone you see as the game progresses, and it's only because you get better at the combat, there's no skill tree and not really any new moves you learn or anything

Agreed. They would need to hugely reduce the number of enemies you fight at any given time to balance it out but I think that would have been a positive thing regardless.

Early fights felt pretty good where you really had to pay attention and make sure you didn't get backed into a corner. As things went on and things got "harder", you just had to poke away at a guy then dodge, rinse and repeat.

That genuinely pissed me off.

I do think it's a good game overall. Good atmosphere, alright story, nice graphics, serviceable combat and the length of the game is fine. The artstyle is wonderfully consistent and some monsters were really unsettling.
I'd say grab it on sale.

I think /v/ either didn't play the game themselves, or they don't know their own tastes enough to know when they see a game they're going to like based on trailers, premise and discussions.

why does combat need to be complex to be good? The game has a fairly simple combat system using a lot of chain attacks, fast, strong hits, parries, dodges etc. which work completely fine and cleanly. How is it shit for not being more complicated? What should they have added?
