Same rules, different engine. Values and occurrences of attacks are different so abilities won't work quite the same.
Also, Tournament Host is ridiculously efficient when it comes to making and recording good looking fights, whereas VFC posts slower but has a little more production value.
Personally I prefer TH now, eh posts tourneys and doesn't afraid of anything

-No abilities, pure skilled battles.
-RNG round conditions every match. (For example, one round guarantees all attacks will be critical, another makes both vermin constantly lose health, etc.)

Abilities add lots of flavour and creativity to the game, the RNG conditions only exemplify the problem if anything, and the final thing just seems silly.
Part of the fun is cheering on other people's vermin so if it was just pitted against itself as the grand finale of a tournament, nobody really cares.

I know this is very early part of the process, and visuals are not the prriority, but the only inconvenience I see with this, is the artwork will clash a lot from drawing to drawing and the background will make them pop up too much.
If there was an easy way to add a filter to the images so everything looks similar, it would be really great. I mean I know this is probably asking for too much, just a thought that might be worth considering.
I'm not very Photoshop savvy, but I know the people that made VA-11 Hall-A just used a fancy filter on all their drawings to make them look all retro cd-i and shit, maybe someone knows more about the subject than me and could help. Obviously they retouched whatever came out of the filter, i'd never expect that much work for this, but the filtering part is probably very effortless and just requires a plugin and like 20 seconds to filter a picture and save it.
