I would much, much rather play Awakening than Echoes. Echoes felt like shit with the hit rates and even worse RNG that wasn't in your favor. Awful level ups. Awakening has better map design than SoV but it's like comparing dirt to shit. The only reason its better is because Awakening has smaller open maps instead of gigantic desert and swamp ones. By far the worst Fire Emblem ever released in the west

dude, i've only ever played the gba fire emblem games and i loved them, so i bought a 2dsxl and echoes last week and so far the combat is too simplistic.

it's too hard to die, you can survive like 5 battles before hp becomes critical. I've buffed my pegasus knight because i thought she was gonna be fragile, but now i tank with them. i also hardly notice anything of the sword/axe/lance dynamic, i just straight up kill everyone with anything. the maps are fucking dull as well, just open fields..

also, too many cutscenes. christ who actually like this anime shit. i can't possibly care about all these shit characters
