Every MMO out there is just a matter of preference. That being said, I tend to enjoy GW2 a lot more than other MMOs, mostly because of the movement and the world. The action camera is also a very nice edition. I know it's objectively inferior to other MMOs, but I find it enjoyable (other than the story, fuck that). Plus I actually have friends that play it, so there's that too I suppose

If you don't want to craft it you can get it from raids, fractals, WvW and PvP reward track, elite sepc collections, other achievements, map currency of LS3 maps, and probably some other ways too.

elite spec collections are basically scavenger hunt achievements where you have to collect a bunch of items in order to unlock a piece of gear.

all zones introduced in Living Story 3 have currencies that you gain from doing events and shit in those zones which you can use to get ascended gear. You might need to buy the living story 3 chapters to gain access to the areas, I'm not sure.

Also interested in that answer. I played WvWvW almost daily during the first release, played a little less in the Scarlet Xpac. Dropped off the game mainly because that aspect was dying and the arena PvP was garbo.

Last time I logged my golem hijinks had been nerfed hard due to changes to stealth. I'll log into the new xpac, test what I can do in my Omega, then probably be sad and leave.

Get ascended trinkets first. Buy amulet with laurels, rings with fractal relics (You can do tier 1 fractals without ascended). Backpack and accessories by farming LW3 maps. Armor and weapon are a bit harder if you are crafting for the first time. Elite spec. collections might help but eventually you have to craft some pieces yourself.

GW2 is absolute trash.

As a GW player of 6 years, there was no greater disappointment than playing GW2 for the first time.

GW will always be my #1 game of all time, though.

I actually missed that in MMOs, quests you can fail. Thats what makes the questing part of GW2 actually fun for me. In other MMOs i just try to get to the lategame and do dungeons and PvP, in GW2 im fine with just fucking around

Now every single slightest aspect of every MMO is full documented and leaked as soon as it's introduced, it doesn't leave any mystery for the end user.

Datamining is a symptom, not the actual problem. MMO's are completely non-reactive to player input, which means they have no staying power beyond what they can get from adding skinner boxes and the like.

No. It was good for its first 6-12 months and then it became shit.

Everyone should TRY it, just to see how good MMOs can be if they evolve beyond the WoW style. But the devs have run the game into the dirt since then.

Really, playing the human starting experience through the Shadow Behemoth should show you everything worth seeing about the game.

The vistas. The jumping puzzles. The events. The NPCs. The flavor littered around. The enemies and skill challenges.

Be sure to take in the view now and then. It's the best part.

Flame and Frost alone was 2013, and the last temporary map was the bazaar, which was last seen around 2014.
Super Adventure Box is pretty temporary, too, since it comes down to whether the devs want to put it out during April's Fools or not.
