My mom had an extremely rare form of breat cancer (less than 1% of women with breast cancer have it) and it was stage 4 when the doctors discovered it. She made a full recovery and is living fine 14 years later. It's not really all that miraculous, it's just uncommon.

At the end of the day, cancer is the sporadic growth of cells that create complications with your organs. There are many causes for cancers, and they're duly labeled as carcinogens, but sometimes people's are just predispositioned to develop cancer.

There have been people who have been smoking every day of their lives and lived into their 90's, there are people who smoked for two years and developed lung cancer.

The worst thing about cancer is that cancer cells create more cancer cells, so you literally have to nuke all of them, less it literally grows back. Worst yet, in Stephan's case, cancer cells break off and travel throughout the body.

I'm sure there's a treatment out there, but treating cancer is just to profitable to ever let that get out.
