This never happened. Literally the first thing Takaki always talks about when talking about bringing the game to other consoles/genres is how he can make the fanservice better or how to enhance it by taking advantage of certain features.

Just because they slap a few "dark" moments into the narrative doesn't mean they're trying to make the story deep. Even half of DC's plot could have been removed and it wouldn't have changed much in the long run.
