Why is Sony so stupid? They should've been hounding Rockstar to make it instead of settling for GTA and RDR marketing deals.

Sony got too cocky after they acquired exclusivity on the new R* IP, this was supposed to be the beginning of a mutual partnership between two studios. Sony finally got a leg up on MS during the 360/PS3 console war and decided to leak information they had acquired from R* in confidence and that was it, R* put the project on ice indefinitely, and R* burned down all the bridges they had with Sony. The poor playstation ports that followed were not a coincidence.

This is all insider, as far as I know the public never got the full story on this but it's been years since the feud so I'm sure it's safe to come out with this by now.
