Is this game comfy now?

At launch I said that I'd play and the game would be enjoyable until I could see through its algorithm for planet randomness.

I was able to see the layout within three planets ;_;

better now?
>>
>>387043401
Much better. Improved terrain generation and a hugeton of new features.
It actually resembles now the game everyone was sold on.
>>
just got it on sale for 10 bucks what am I in for?
>>
Wonder if you can pirate this 1.3 version.
>>
>>387044114
what site
>>
Where are they getting the funding for these updates?
>>
>>387043401
anon, you should have seen that it was going to be bad before launch

Almost

Not yet, the new "multiplayer" is a scam
>>
>>387044065
You shills say this with every patch and every time you are wrong.
>>
>>387044423
that's true
I'm glad people utilised that shit on such a huge scale
also is the update free?
I'm considering buying the game for £10 if it is
>>387044631
I'm going to wait for the update to come out before buying it kek, mostly for this reason

Just finished downloading it. About to play it for the first time.

On PC?

>>387044783

make sure you keep it under 2 hours for the refund anon
>>

yes on PC

Why is it always Rises, Rise of or Revenge of.
>>
Is the update out or are they still working on it?
>>
No- I don't think a comeback from this game is even possible in the slightest, sorry not sorry
>>
No amount of multiplayer can change the fact the the core gameplay is gathering. Just fucking gathering. Nothing can save this pile of garbage
>>
>>387044593
which store?
>>
>>387044896
But what if I like it?

>>387044956
Where?
>>
>>387043243
Im not touching this yet. If they figure out how to make real multiplayer from what they've released I'll bite. While being able to see there is actually a person next to you, I kinda hope you'll be actually able to see player models
>>
>>387043243
>redemption
At this point they're simply trying to salvage the Hello Games name from being "Complete trash headed by a shitty compulsive liar" to something else. Redemption is not possible at all. Not when you launch at full price and then release what you promised at launch a year later.
>>
>>387045182
>Space combat
>Base building

If they added actual enemies instead of the flying robot drones I think it would be a solid game.

No need to be so upset if you don't like the genre of game.
>>
>>387044896

you can play til 2.9hrs but when it hits 3 you can't get refunds

Your playtime and valves server playtime is very different
>>
>>387044152
Gog version
>>
>>387043243
unredeemable
>>
Even if the game somehow in a very unlikely chance becomes the game that they promised it would be eventually, it will never wash away the diarrhea-like stink of the constant bold-faced lies of Sean Murray.
>>
Reminder that NMS's entire story, end-goal, inventory, crafting and ship system are ripped from a mobile game called "Out There".
>>
>>387044065
It's never going to be the game is was sold on but it might become ok to play
>>
>>387045565
You mean they didn't come up on everything awful about the game on their own??
>>
>>387043243
Redemption is only available for No Man's Sky. There will be no patch to give Mighty Number 9 or Battleborne any redemption
>>
>>387043243
I love the no man's sky art.
A shame the game is ugly as fuck
>>
Why is the game so god damned saturated holy FUCK
>>
>>387045182
The core gameplay of almost any game is gathering?
>>
It's the pointless monotony of it all.

You go to a planet to gather resources to upgrade your stuff to go to the next planet. Exploration is pointless because there's nothing really to find but more resources. Base building is pointless because the whole aim of the game is to keep gathering and moving on once the resources dry up. There's nothing to conquer but your own patience and no true end goal because it just loops you back to the beginning to start the cycle of gather/upgrade-move-gather again.
>>
>>387045682
Exactly, only in Out There it actually works because the main point of the game is more pointed towards story than exporation. Plus it's a mobile game.
>>
>>387044065
see >>387044682
We need more than just a couple of cosmetic updates like this. All in all half of the features promised before lunch are still missing so we need keep waiting for these to be implemented. Until then this game will be shit.
>>
So I was getting mad fucking fps in the opening, but then It took over fucking 60 seconds to get past loading during which I was getting 10fps and now the game seems locked at 30fps during actual gameplay?
The fuck
>>
>>387045748
you're fucking retarded
>>
I think if they continue making improvements to the game and slowly add in the content that was originally promised, then I can see the game being worth it. As-is with the current patch? Its still seems like a mess and is only now at a point where it should have been when it launched. I might pick it up when it is super cheap down the road or in a humble bundle.

Battleborn is fucked all around, and gearbox is going even more off the rails with their weird ass 1v1 card game shit.
>>
>>387045770
well duh. You mine things in order to upgrade your tool gun to mine things faster.
>>
>>387044682
Not that anon, but it's $24.00 now. It's the price I would have paid for the original.
>>
>>387045770
>It's the pointless monotony of it all
And that's the fundamental flaw of NMS. The gameplay loop is completely fucked. HG are doing nothing but putting bandages onto that gameplay loop through freighters, ground vehicles, and "base building". Meanwhile, you still go to a planet, explore nothing, gather the same resources that are literally everywhere else, talk to the same aliens with the same lines that are literally everywhere else, and then fly to the next star system, rinse repeat ad infinitum.
>>
I pirated it on release. On-foot movement was slow without that punch+jetpack trick, and the flight model was too simple and didn't allow for interesting dogfights. I'm mildly interested in it as a little timewaster, but unless they make an effort to improve the travel mechanics in their travel-focused game I doubt I'll go for it.
>>
>>387045770
>No true end goal

What game has an end goal? Did you want to defeat the demon king? Or perhaps your idea of end game is to complete achievements?

I only played for a few hours but I imagine the end game you getting bored with the game and feeling like you've completed it. It's a """sandbox""" game after all. Not your favorite jrpg

People still play Rust. It might have a chance.

singleplayer and multiplayer

Holy shit. Did they hire the guy who made this image? I've had this since around 2008.
>>
>>387043243
I imagine you run into a player and getting told to kill myself.
>>
>>387046463
So they removed the tedious portion. Doesn't take away from the rest of poor game design. If I wanted to play a rust clone, I would play the one with wizards, not the one in space. Even though I like space games
>>
>>387043243
Not worth a pirate.
>>
>>387046486
Wait, hold the fuck on, did they? This image is from 2006. I wonder if the NMS team committed plagiarism.
>>
>>387046671
>NMS
No, that's not from NMS. That anon is posting another game. Plus look at those textures, look at those sands and colors and that sky. That screenshot isn't fundamentally ugly, it isn't a child puking pastels onto a screen, so it can't be NMS.
>>
>>387046551

It has nothing to do with Rust/Ark PVP gameplay, its PVE

See Osiris and Planet Nomad

>>
>>387046787
Oh, so even worst then. What's the point of crafting simulator if you don't need to protect yourself from other players or enemies. It's basically minecraft with mods at that point.
>>
>>387047092

Do you not understand what PVE is? look it up

You defend from any alien species and have to infiltrate their alien base with mechs and then build up your base when they invade.
>>
>>387045928
rationalize your addiction to spending more faggot
>>
>>387043243
I'd play it if they add actual multiplayer. It handled very well in many ways, I don't regret the pirate.

Subanutica
Now shut up
>>
/v/ is way too passionate about this game. Just shows how boring the last year of gaming has been and how desperate everyone here is for some Drama or low effort dead memeing
>>
>>387047092
>it's minecraft with mods
Do you realize that there are tons of people out there who are into games like that?
>>
>>387048654

Subnautica has the worst god awful art style ever made and also using the worst engine ever made for loser developer hacks. They just had to make the game about "no gunz" and then put up an diversity poster asian with a blue streak for them sjw points.
>>
>>387043401

It's not better. It's the same exact fucking game.

That's a bit hyperbolic
>>
>>387044065
>Improved terrain generation
Some anon was dropping screenshots last big thread and it looked like the exact same playdough garbage as before

>hugeton of new features
None of which alter the core gameplay of going to bland planets with zero interesting features, digging a few holes while all your shit screams at you for recharging and looking at out of place random generated monsters idly milling about the place.
>>
>>387049016
They didn't even add multiplayer, the only thing that might have made that game salvageable.

They added bases and cars.

What else?

Also, please explain how those make the game different. For instance, what can I do by standing in a base I could not do before by standing in an open planet without a base?

I'm waiting to know how what I said was hyperbolic.
>>
>>387045372
Is Rock Vacuum a genre of game now?
>>
>>387049229
>what else
Story, questing, freighters, agriculture if ur a farm autist, Weapon and ship classes, Factions, New weapon types, terraforming, tons of UI improvements and QOL changes.

Also to answer your question The entire point of a base is unlocking new crafting recipes (such as auto-mining units) through hired terminal workers and doing their quest lines. The rest is cosmet stuff that some people care about and some don't
