I think there may be a sort of crab barrel situation going on with japan and kickstarter games.

Like the attitude towards independents isn't healthy enough for people who do wanna pursue that stuff. They can't find enough locals willing to help them in the way that they need.

I haven't verified any of this. This is just pattern seeking instinct.

What is more to talk about? The creator of FF tactics starts a kickstarter to make a game and get's millions of dollars. The game was supposed to be released 2 years ago. It never was and he and the original design team stopped working on it and announced it would be going to another studio who makes games like Barbies. The FF tactics creator is no longer affiliated with the game. You would have to be brain dead to not be ironic and talk about the game.

Fuck off losers, kikestarter is AIDs.
>>
>>387037167
>The creator of FF tactics starts a kickstarter to make a game and get's millions of dollars.
He doesn't, he gets measly 600k, which proves that nobody wants weebshit and that the Japanese "SRPG classics" are overhyped trash that reached meme status.
>>
>>387037493
Whatever, point is, the creator of FF tactics with Squaresoft/enix is shit. The art style looked horrible, probably some unreal engine garbage. It was terrible.

FF tactics is amazing though and if you are somehow implying that it isn't good then you have not played it or are in fact retarded.

>>
>>387037757
Fuck off cuck.
>>
>>387037619
>FF tactics is amazing though
Nope, it's overhyped meme trash with exactly zero challenge due to the possibility to grind without consequences, no level scaling during story missions and shit level scaling during grinding "missions", since monsters constitute a large portion of enemies during these missions and they have absolutely horrendous scaling and cannot keep up with the player characters.

The game also sold like dogshit, compared to actually popular SRPGs. Even the new XCOM game outsold not only FFT, but EVERY FFT game ever made combined, which includes FFT, FFTA and FFTA2.

There is not a single argument or reason to think that FFT is nothing more than trash memed to hell and back by shit-eating weebcucks.

He has never actually beaten it and got bodied at Wiegraf. That's why he brought up level scaling because he is speaking in hypotheticals that you could over level if you wanted even though over leveling really doesn't help you that much and shit in the late game will still be tough.

You are always under leveled if anything, or that's how you feel once shit gets real.

Of course. No level scaling combined with no repercussions for grinding means the game is completely devoid of challenge, that's all there is to it. The fact that some mongoloids on /v/ consider this turd "challenging" is all one needs to know about the shit-eating weebcucks that infest the place.

>>387038813
It's either good or bad, depending on how you view it. The problem with Blackguards is that it's so hard, that many missions have only a certain "correct" way of doing them. Try doing them in any other manner and you're fucked. Personally, I don't think this is really a problem, because it will take you multiple tries to figure out the correct approach, so you're not exactly railroaded into playing the missions "correctly" right from the start. Overall, if you play it a s turn based tactics game and not a RPG, I believe it's a very good game.

His response would probably be "IF I WANTED TO PLAY A BOARDGAME I WOULD" or something.

So don't bother.

Jello cannot be given a spine.
>>
>>387040840
>Ever heard of Commandos?
No.
How does that adequately subvert the problem I'm talking about?

You can only fully control one person at a time. Without timestopping or rewinding time, it's impossible unless you treat people like a bunch of ants to swarm around and do very general actions.
>>
>>387033009
>>387034793
this whole thing looked shady as shit from day 1
>>
>>387040940
The point you're trying to make is weird in multiple ways
1) You don't control multiple people at once in a turnbased game either, unless we're talking about strategy similar to RTS which immediately ruins your point (the ant thing you talked about)
2) Commandos is real time and you control as many people as in a standard turnbased game
3) You could technically list every RTwP game as fitting that criterion
>>
>>387041190
>You don't control multiple people at once in a turnbased game either,

Time has stopped in turn based games.

You are giving everyone orders at once, since its a frozen moment in time.

I haven't played Commando. You bringing that up means you have to go into depth about it you dipstick.
>>
>>387042375
Okay, so your point is really just an abstract idea of "in-game time" instead of what the player actually does. Okay then:
>You're controlling multiple characters.
>You, a single person.
>You think you can do this in real time?
Yes, every RTwP game does that
>>
>>387042273
>"Classics" nobody ever played or bought
Now you are just being idiotically contrarian. They both created templates for sub-genres and have themselves been recreated multiple times. Jagged Alliance and XCOM being classics does nothing to diminish other classics.
>>
>>387042498
Nope.
And if you could, you would've described it to me. You namedropped a genre that 'supposedly' does it and this is a conversational filibuster designed to make me give up or waste my time elsewhere.

Instead of doing either, I call you out on your filthy dirty lies.

I have won sir. Give me my crown and scepter, I will enjoy wearing one and beating you with the other.
>>
>>387042237

>>
>>387042669
>They both created templates for sub-genres and have themselves been recreated multiple times.
They created nothing, because they have influenced nothing apart some more obscure shit nobody bought or played. Again, classics are those games that were actually played by people, games that defined or influenced the genre. Your obscure weebshit has always been and still is irrelevant.

See, I would expect a No True Scotsman if I were to bring that up first and the reason it doesn't work. In order to make Baldur's Gate work well you're pausing all the time and re-directing actions. Because if you try to play it while letting time go, you will get your shit kicked in.

Your full attention can only be in one place at a time unless you're able to PAUSE. And that's basically just glorified turn based battle, understand?
