Why is /v/ so triggered by the Witcher 3s success?

Because it beat out Bloodborne for most of the awards.

Mostly falseflagging Nintenbros mad that it has more GoTYs than every single Nintendo game combined as well as falseflagging Sonybros mad that it cucked Bloodborne.

It came, it saw and it conquered. From now on, gaming will be viewed as "Before the Witcher 3" and "After the Witcher 3".

Because everyone in /v/ is a fuckin hipster that hates anything that becomes popular, mainstream and successful.
The Witcher series was a somewhat obscure and not very well know series. Then Wild Hunt came out as a AAA game and made The Witcher known to everyone.
Their precious unknown series got "stolen by the normies."

Everyone on /v/ is a hipster.

But the combat was pretty disappointing for an otherwise great game.

The environment was very immersive, but the combat was too clunky for me to enjoy. It's not a horrible game, but I do regret buying it.

I finished it multiple times and I am still annoyed that it took Bloodborne's spotlight. People kept calling it the best game ever, ignoring that it wasn't even the best game that came out that year. As a game it is pretty ironic since all of the cinematic elements are on point, the writing, music and cinematography are all great but the gameplay mechanics and combat are kind of subpar.

Just started playing it yesterday. It's a good game, but you can tell how much they tailored it for consoles.

I felt the same way about Sleeping Dogs but I was so lost in the atmosphere I felt it was forgivable.
