i did notice that upon typing my characters name he ended up with an icon showing, the M in his name activated auto block or something, so its possible you pressed something during naming your guy thats locked the camera somehow, try typing your name and see what happens

Don't configure controls in-game, but with Steam Big Picture.

Try getting something like x360ce and remap the controls in it. Hell, I use a fucking NES controller with analogs and shoulder buttons slapped on it and the game maps everything perfectly right outta the box
