Pretty much this. If you want custom games then Garena is probably your best choice, or gameranger if it still has a community.

i still play a torrented copy of it over VPNs with a program called LanCraft. custom rpg and tower/team defense maps are my favorite. ENFOS TEAM SURVIVAL will never die

You just make a battle.net account and then look for bots hosting the games you want, whats so fucking hard with that?

Just use Battlenet in game. I still play the fuck out of Burbenog/Blixels/etc TD all the time.

What was the meta like for this game in multiplayer, anyways? Like, what did each race excel at?

Have a lot of defensive shit and has some good spells.

They can use their workers to make buildings faster.

Really good ground units, and good support casters. Strong heroes too the blademaster being a favorite for harassment.

They can also pillage with peons grunts and raiders and get money every time they hit a building.

Kinda like the protoss and zerg when it comes to buildings can summon them but it has to be on blight

Good air units, and a lot of specific rushes based around certain heroes and units.

Wisps need to be sacrificed to become a ancient but the ancients are also units in addition to builds and can uproot and fight and fight while rooted as well.

Female units have shadow meld

Farms can heal

Wisps don't remove trees

Can do a lot of harassment early with certain heroes like the demon hunter. Glaive throwers are very good, and mountain giants and bears are great as well.
