When I got to this part I was confused as to what was meant by "submit," like I thought it was some weird thing where you build up points by mashing O but then have to occasionally hit select to bank them or something.
>>
>>386997983
There are some challenging fights here and there but there's really only one difficult platforming area and it can be pretty easily beaten by using the right charms.

Most of the fights where you have to beat something you beat earlier in the game a second time are way harder than they need to be.

Not him but this is a dogshit argument and I fucking hate that so many /v/tards think it's worth trotting out. The player shouldn't be forced to completely ignore certain mechanics to prevent the game from breaking itself. The developer should have balanced the game around it in the first place. Games are about using every tool at your disposal in order to succeed, they're not about crippling yourself because the developer is incompetent.

>>
>>387000313
How is it stupid? If you don't like a part of the game, you don't use it. Why does it suddenly not apply here? I don't like dual swords in Monster Hunter, so I don't use them. I don't complain about "crippling myself" because I'm not using every single feature in the game. You clearly dislike the first person aiming, so why are you using it and then complaining?
>>
>>387000202

>>
>>387000685
>>387000685
It's not about not "liking" something. It's about that something not being well-designed. Your ability to not use the feature doesn't change the fact that the feature sucks. I don't play Monster Hunter, but for the sake of argument, if the dual swords were blatantly overpowered and trivialized every monster encounter, that would be a negative against the game. Regardless of the player's ability to not use the dual swords. There's a difference between giving it your all to overcome a game vs having to constantly stop yourself from destroying the game's balance to get something resembling an engaging experience. Balance matters.

I still think that's an incredibly stupid argument. It'd be one thing if the game forced you to use something, like how Valkyria Chronicles is near impossible to S rank without scout rushing. But you said it yourself. The game is not designed around first person aiming, so you're missing out on nothing by not using it. Do you use nothing but a team of 6 legendaries when you play Pokemon? Do you enter cheat codes when starting a new game? They're a feature in the game, so you have to go out of your way to not use it.

And yes, in MH1, the lance was insanely OP. You know what people did that wanted to have fun instead of breeze through the game? They didn't use the lance. Yes, it's a point against it, but saying that you're not playing the superior in all other aspects version of a game because of one optional feature you dont like is absolutely an overreaction.

This, solidus choke hold on euro extreme is absolutely insane. Easily the most diffcult mashing sequence in the whole series as well as one of the most difficult parts in general in the series but only on euro extreme, other difficulties are managable.

Although as i recall ere was a special trick that made it easier, if you look away to the left corner i think, as in while you are being choked push the left analog to the topo left corner, it will slow down the rate at which the air and health bar deplete. Im pretty sure moving it to the right also worked. That trick was the only way i was able to pass that section on euro extreme.

It's mostly PKeks trying to play this game with the "superior" KB/M rather than with a controller. Admittedly the sniping and minigun missions gave me more shit b/c controllers even though I didn't have that much trouble in those missions when I first played it on PS2, I blame the deadzones on those shitty controllers.

Many people seem (esp. Pkeks) to hate flying in GTA b/c the game was designed around using a controller. Flying with KB/M is usually cumbersome at best requiring you to whip out a gamepad.

I was afraid going through that seeing how people always shit on it so hard here and now I have to say it's not so bad. Half-Life 2, the whole game is "that part". I loved this game when it came out, but my recent playthrough was less fun because I realized how much the game is just about standing and listening to people babble. It's not a bad game, I just wish it was more straightforward action like Half-Life 1 is.

>that fucking long and boring boat sequence where you need to get out of the boat and open gates and shit
>that fucking driving sequence, it's just like the boat section
>fucking dull nova prospekt
>even worse follow freeman part

And the worst is the citadel. Boring levels, boring enemies. Half-Life 1 was great because of fast paced and straightforward it was (once the game really begins after the test chamber).

>Pick up two NPC phantoms along the way
>After what seems like an eternity, one dies to horses but it's okay, I'm almost at the boss
>Other NPC phantom times out in the middle of fighting the kittens right when the second one joins in, because apparently even NPC phantoms have timers
>Get wrecked

You know, I think that was the last time I played that particular DLC. Never did beat it.

Agreed on most parts, personally I found Nova Prospekt pretty cool each playthrough though. The dullest for SURE being sentry defense however, but overall an enjoyable level in my opinion. Nothing in HL2 really strikes with the same feeling HL1 had though. Fantastic blend of action and isolation.

I liked the concept behind the level, but ascending the four elemental towers in a row and each time having to run down the central stairwell, through the entry halls and gardens to get the bottom of the next tower got old fast.
Also, fuck the Tower of Air.
