Dota isn't that big in China compared to other games, Tencent has been actively trying to push Dota out of internet cafes for some time.

Europe has a more scattered playebase so there would probably have to be multiple venues.

They're getting pretty fucking big. I went to TI5 and the Kiev Major, and though TI has more flashy lights, the Majors are always completely packed to the point where you'll be forced to stand due to a lack of free seats, the same is never true for TI has the Key Arena always seems about half-full.
TI matches since 2015 have sucked, so much money is at stake so you don't see many crazy plays and exciting moments anymore. However, since the prizepool for the Majors are smaller, you get a much better variety of heros and some brilliant moments you simply don't see anymore since everyone plays it way too safe in TI.
