How the fuck do I cross the chasm?
I have the stepping stones and harness but have no idea where to use them.
>>
>>386980718
Stand at the farthest edge of the chasm and use them. For some reason when I did it I had to drag the stones to the character to activate them, not the usual way (Click on character, then item)

>The games 600 hours bud
Nice meme, the game would probably be around 100-150 hours long at best if a) the game was properly balanced, b) the bugs were fixed, and c) Cleve's patches didn't corrupt people's saves three times in a row.
>>
>>386985230
>someone at 83% in ~70 hours
Yeah it sure is 600
>>
>>386986126
the game being unbalanced makes the game shorter since you can steamroll combat
>>
>>386986279
The game being unbalanced makes it so either you go in with the right build, uncovered after hours of trial and error, or you end up getting stomped by hordes of imbalanced enemies.

If the game was balanced, you would be able to finish the game with almost any party setup and be able to properly experiment with different race/class mixtures to see how they play out.

That, and you wouldn't need to rely on the busted ass NPC's either.

FRIENDLY REMINDER

The small minority of prolific samefags that support the game blindly should be ridiculed or avoided. Their posts are redundant and easy to spot often including:

>Sape (negative)
>Thal (positive)
>Incline
>Blobber
>The spelling "Grimwah"
>Pressure to purchase Grimoire
>Contempt for the pirating of Grimoire
>Claims that uploaded copies of Grimoire contain viruses, bitcoin miners, keyloggers
>Insults and slurs intended to bait someone named Andrew
>Labeling of the game's art style as competent to gorgeous
>Labeling of the game's detractors as "Goons" or "Weebs"
>Stale memes
>a heavy reliance on buzzwards
>Idolatry involving Cleveland Blakemore
>Prejudices within the genre based on game region
>Grandstanding
>Elitism
>Rabid belligerence
>Ignorance regarding good game design
>Ignorance regarding good writing
>Ignorance regarding color theory
>Ignorance regarding math and the interactivity of simple systems

Poor reasoning and argumentative skills are also characteristic. When faced with logic they'll adopt a veteran gamer stance and insist their opponent is better suited playing games generally regarded as casual, i.e. "Go back to Skyrim, kid." Or the new favorite, "You haven't even played Wizardry."

Bottom of the barrel shitposts from rookie anglers.

I simply cannot stand the graphics. Not even a graphics wore, Im not asking for 3D enviroments, shadows and lighting, Im simply asking for a little bit of cohesion. Frankly the graphics are horseshit. Ugly sprites and portraits, stolen assets and recycling sprites. Yet I find the style of the game so endearing in the same way you find a half retarded man solving a rubiks cube endearing.
>>
>>386989496
It's a first person dungeoncrawling RPG. Frankly, there are significantly better places to start if you've never played one before, either playing legends of grimrock or the later might & magic games. But if you're like me, and outdated graphics, music and clunky controls get you hard, try it out.
>>
>>386991813
I'm pretty sure only sages do, but yeah there's spellbooks with improved identify later on. You could also use the statue down in samhain if you feel like backtracking.
>>
>>386996218
Outdated graphics are one thing but the game legitimately cannot be finished in its current state.
>>
>>386994738
I'm not a shill I just genuinely appreciate the game :( Frankly it's kinda shit, but I like deeply flawed games with clunky interfaces. Same reason I like to replay the original wizardry's on DOS, or find obscure apple II RPG's.
>>
>>386996367
Fair enough, but for a beginner I seriously doubt that they would make it that far before cleve patches it. Bitch all you want, at least he's patching it frrquently, although like 95% of the bugs were created from him trying to fix things. Yeah he's kinda retarded, but that's why I like this game, it's like peering into the mind of a mad man.

Doesn't fucking matter. Even Sonic '06 can be beaten in spite of its numerous glitches without the need to patch in the ending, it shouldn't be acceptable, especially for the time he supposedly spent and the money that he's asking for.
>Yeah he's kinda retarded, but that's why I like this game, it's like peering into the mind of a mad man.

Is this game open world like some of the Might & Magic games or the recent The Quest or is it a linear map like some Wizardy games or Might & Magic X had where it's just one path through a forest instead of and big open plain?
>>
>>386997698
>Doesn't fucking matter. Even Sonic '06 can be beaten in spite of its numerous glitches without the need to patch in the ending, it shouldn't be acceptable, especially for the time he supposedly spent and the money that he's asking for.

This is significantly different from sonic 06. We're talking about a bug at about 80~ hours in the game, the rest is smooth sailing. Is it absolutely fucking insane that we still don't have a stable version? Yeah. But don't go comparing apples to oranges

>Then read his blog, lurk the steam forums, and participate in grimwah threads. Don't sink money into this product until Cleve finishes the game.

A: The game's finished, albeit with it leaking from every pore and is wrapped in duct tape like a mummy. The contents there, Cleve's just incompetent, and that will most likely never change.

B: Despite its massive flaws I enjoy the game. I feel satisfied with the game currently, and an glad I purchased it. Don't tell others to do with their money, even if this is equivalent to wiping my ass with two twenty dollar bills.
>>
>>386998248
It opens up fairly early on but you're going to run into some roadblocks due to Cleve not finishing certain areas yet.
>>
>>386998248
It's quite closed in its initial hours, but it opens up with many different subareas and quests to finish after the first major dungeon
>>
>>386998525
>We're talking about a bug at about 80~ hours in the game, the rest is smooth sailing.
We're also talking about a bug that prevents you from finishing the game. Doesn't matter if it's in level 1/20 or level 19/20, a bug that prevents progress is still a bug that prevents progress.
>The game's finished
No it isn't.
>The contents there
No it isn't.
>Despite its massive flaws I enjoy the game.
Good for you.
>Don't tell others to do with their money
I'm suggesting that anyone who is interested in this game holds off on purchasing it until it becomes worth the price. You think I'm going to recommend a game that's not only unfinished, but asking for $40 to boot?

Get the fuck outta!
>>
>>386998878
This is false information.

Why do you care when you have proven with each post that you dont want to play the game?

There are some of us with over 100 hours and have not encountered the game breaking issues you keep referring to.
>>
>>386998878
The difference is here it'll most likely be patched within the next 24 hours, albeit that's never a guarantee with Cleve.

>The game's finished
No it isn't.

Have you played the game mein neiger? It's here. You can play it with your hands. With the most modern patch it plays fine until much much much later on, which only the most hardcore of autists have made it to.

If he doesn't fix it within the next day or so, then I would agree with you. But as it is, this is a bug that's affecting about 0.5% of an already tiny playerbase. And it will (hopefully) be fixed sooner rather than later (I'm probably putting way too much faith into Cleve though, he also said the manual would be done last Monday. And y'know. delayed the game 23 years)

>I'm suggesting that anyone who is interested in this game holds off on purchasing it until it becomes worth the price. You think I'm going to recommend a game that's not only unfinished, but asking for $40 to boot?

That's alright, and I think it's currently worth the money. I'm not going to argue against opinion, that'll just end in assfucking. And most people don't like assfucking.

love u anon
>>
>>386999292
>This is false information.
How is it false information? Even Cleve himself has acknowledged the times when his patches ended up fucking with people's games.
>Why do you care when you have proven with each post that you dont want to play the game?
Nice presumptions. I did want to play this game, I wanted to support Cleve in his endeavors since I know how hard it is to find support when you're a one-man dev team, but every day since its release, Cleve has given me less and less reasons to care about this game and more reasons why I should wait until a time when the game is guarenteed to be 100% stable (or at least capable of being finished.)
>There are some of us with over 100 hours

Funny, i was the first poster here with the .5 to .7 save issues. Then got fucked again when the . 7 save wouldnt work with the next update.

However, if you play this game as you would any wiz 5+ game, you will be able to complete the main quest lins. But if you try to speed through and skip parts, you will screw yourself.

The game does open up later but it is still very linear.

Much of the speculated game hours available will be due to quest lines that will be worked on after 100 percent atlas completion.

I am over 103 hours and will be done with the maps by about 120 or so.

We're on the internet, no sense in crying over arguments on a anime board, I enjoy discussion. It is actually finished, the content there is currently inaccessible, but it's there. Whether or not you consider that being the difference between a complete product or not is a completely nother argument.

Seriously though, before buying it search out a mega from one of the archives, and try the game out. You may like it

>We're on the internet, no sense in crying over arguments on a anime board, I enjoy discussion.
I would give you a handshake if I could anon, if more Grimwah fans were like you then a lot of its flaws would be easier to swallow.
> It is actually finished, the content there is currently inaccessible, but it's there.
If I can't access it through legitimate means or through hacking the games, I don't consider it as being there, or at least not yet.
>Seriously though, before buying it search out a mega from one of the archives, and try the game out. You may like it
Honestly, I would've downloaded this game a long time ago if there weren't rumors of Codexfags installing keyloggers into the game files and distibuting them to fuck over pirates.

I know cognitively that it's probably bullshit, but I feel as though it's not really worth the risk with the game being in its current state.

The colour scheme for this game is great. I absolutely love the graphics in they way they have the early-mid 90s DOS era dungeon crawler aesthetic nailed down perfectly.
>>
>>386998248
>Is this game open world like some of the Might & Magic games
It is not open like the overworld in Xeen or anything. However, there are fairly large areas with paths to multiple dungeons you can access all at once and some of the dungeons are fucking huge, and some of those huge dungeons even have interconnecting puzzles. I don't think there is a single dungeon from any crawler that they don't absolutely dwarf.

So it's not MM design, but it's not Wizardry design either. It's pretty much its own thing.
