I have no idea what I'm doing.
So I downloaded this, but I know fuck-all about ROMs. I'm guessing I need an emulator to run .gen files. Is Emuparadise a legit site? And do I need a Sega Genesis emulator or a S3&K emulator (if that's even a thing)?

You're not gonna get much from downloading Sonic 3 complete if you don't have prior knowledge of Sonic 3&K

Nothing will really change for you if you just use a genesis emulator and play sonic 3&k

Emuparadise is a legit site, but a lot of their ROMs got taken down, I think mostly Nintendo ones though. Just browse through the site and you'll see that the homepage has a bunch of links to emulators for basically every home console in existence minus the most recent gen.
