Genuinely can't you RP it like Ulysses is mistaken about your identity? If I remember correctly there's the option to completely RP it like he's just batshit and talking about the wrong person.
Also I believe it gives you the option to RP it as you were a one-time visitor to the Divide as a simple courier and that started the string of events, and the rest of the story Ulysses came up with was just hyped bullshit. That's how I ended up RP'ing it, anyway.
Finally there's the most simplistic answer of just not buying the DLC.

Did new vegas rape your kids or ruin your life op? Why do you keep making the same thread, n was fun but there were many issues with the games engine that obsidian had to work with. I had fun with fallout 3 too but doubt I could replay it or new vegas again due to how clunky the combat is.
