Stopped buying them Dark Souls, I realized I was paying extra for shit I never use. I had to get a storage unit for all my vidya I decided to keep and eBay what I thought was wasteful (most NIS/Atlus collector's editions in general)

I'm not a person who puts up posters or puts statues on shelves, so I just stopped. I don't even go for steelcase editions either, rather just have a whole stack of the same cases since I wait until games are under $30 now before I buy them.

Dragon Age Inquisition Inquisitor's Edition is hilariously bad.

the case itself is bad enough already, you can literally tear holes through it just by pushing with your fingers on its surface. There's a plastic pedestal on top for you to place the steelbook in... Which doesn't contain the game, obviously.

The "war table pieces" are simply tiny figurines of the worst quality imaginable (the smallest amount of force can break them, chances are they'll be broken already by the time you open the fucking thing - not to mention they just look like shit) that you're supposed to place on a table covered by the map... To roleplay as a strategist of sorts or something I guess... Nah it just fucking sucks.

The tarot game is pretty nice as it is, but for that price and without the game itself you'd expect something a little more sophisticated, not shit's that offered for free during video game fairs.

The ink and quill set, well it's really just a glass jar with a feather. That's it. And no there's no ink to be seen either.

Two miserable "coins" made of plastic that serve no purposes and won't ever look good no matter where you put them. Same deal for the inquisitor badge that puts even gym leaders to shame.

The lockpick set is... Well, shit. it's nothing more than a bunch of plastic sticks that will break in half the second you put some pressure on them, thus are completely useless. At least they come in a leather case I guess.

And last but not least, the sketch book is EXACTLY what it sounds like. What, you really thought there'd be at least some kind of artbook or something you fucking idiot? Now you can draw the art of the game yourself, truly ahead of its time.

$130 well spent if you ask me.

No I didn't buy it. But I know someone who did. I never miss an opportunity to embarass him with it. It's that bad.

All the best promo shit I've gotten for games was free. I got a really nice ceramic bobble head for pre-ordering viewtiful joe. For pre-ordering windwaker you got a gamecube version of OoT with masters quest that I managed to sale years later for $50 (I think this was before the silver gamecube one)

The best packaged artbook I have was the one for preordering persona 4. It's pretty big and has a nice number of pages for free.
