/v/ has always been like this. Unfortunately its where everyone goes to vent, so until literally everyone leaves or takes a fucking pill this is what we're stuck with. Until then, just be the poster you know mister rogers would want you to be, a good poster.

/v/ has always been like this. The only threads that didn't get shitposted/trolled were the old MHFU, Splash Woman/Mega Man 9, Story Time, Porn, Nuzlock, Deus Ex, and that is about it. Hell I'd say to go /vg/ but most threads there are ERP, avatar fagging, elitest fuckboys who are NEETS so there for have to get the feeling of power by /vg/ threads. I would say monster hunter is the exception to the rule but it happens there too. The ONE thing /v/ usually gets right though is when a game sucks or is shit before release we are one of the few, if not only, place on the web where you can usually get a honest opinion on a game. Usually. Some games get shit just because though.

when it comes to seeing if a game sucks i never know because they say literally every game sucks. they hate perfectly decent games suck as mgsv, fallout 4, etc. the games are at the very minimum decent and they have large fanbases of people who like them, but /v/ fucking BLASTS these games, saying they have nothing redeemable, total trash, etc etc.

/v/ being insufferable garbage is the result of the rest of the internet gradually becoming an advertiser-friendly safespace where you're not allowed to have "wrong" opinions or you'll get banned so no one's feelings get hurt, but because 4chan doesn't do that, normalfags from those other sites come here to vent, shitpost and act as contrarian as they want without getting shit for it other than replies.
Hell, they can even get into some heated (You) Wars to further validate themselves for doing such things, which is why shitposting has become such a thing on 4chan.
