The characters in IV:A are mostly pretty bad, the only good ones are the Demons that have a role in the story, with the exception of one or two of them. The dungeons are also pretty shit, but it's still worth playing.

On the other hand its overall tone are different from other SMT mainline, and people call it too Persona or anime in general

Also the atmosphere are worse. The new ambient themes are not really memorable
