I need some advice, bros. The Hive is a maze. There are groups of 3+ people every 10 feet and I keep getting ganked by these shitter thugs that run away before I can finish them off. My quest log is filled with side quests and I can't find the guy I'm supposed to find (I just escaped the Mausoleum). The scenery is drab and only lightened by the superb voice acting, but I've spent at least 2 hours in the Hive without finding anyone who can point me in the right direction.

The Hive is really fucking shitty, you guys. Does it get better?

The Hive gets shittier with every new playthrough. Your only hope is to memorize where every important NPC is and how to complete their quests in the quickest way possible.

That was such a stupid playthrough to get through, I had to save scum out the ass to finish it. Ravel, Trias and the final boss were fun though since those boiled down to magic duels with us just hurling magic at each other despite Trias' Cloudkill horseshit.

Play Enhanced Edition.

I've played and finished both the original and the EE.

I tried playing the original version again a couple of years ago but during mid gameplay the game crashed and corrupted my save files so that the game would crash every time I loaded another area. The game is unstable as that especially on newer OSes (Windows 7 for me probably even more unstable on newer).

EE though fixed the buggyness as long as you don't up the FPS in the menu too high.


Good luck man. This game aged perfectly well and the story and interactivity is still the best in gaming. I say this without nostalgia goggles.
