The current Konami bosses hate games, and feel embarrassed to even be associated with them. The original plan was firing of the entire game division and shutting down all console/handheld gaming. Only mobile and Pashinkos would remain. Those make money. Then MGSV sold really well, more than they expected, so they sorta half-assed kept a little bit of their console division alive. But it probably wont' last.
