why RTS dont do this? why must they instead focus on multiplayer and face imminent death due to bleeding playerbases?

this is why turn based games are more popular than ever, the vast majority of them have robust single player campaigns, often with tons of replayability

Not really. The major appeal of Warhammer is that multiplayer skirmishes are now amazingly fun due to unique faction rosters, you have to play differently against different factions and every single faction has multiple competitive army compositions in multiplayer, but you're probably right about the other strategy games on that list.

Dead. Yes. Total Warhammer was the worst Total War I've played. In spite of the gimmicks every game plays identically and you get fuck all content.

I still play Civ V because 6 looks like a downgrade in all departments.
