Grim Dawn has actual enemy variety and atmosphere.

In Path of Exile you just fight skeletons most of the time and D3 is cartoony generic garbage.

grim dawn if you want a really solo friendly arpg that's also very mod friendly.

What's the best kind of game like these out there? I'm looking to get into more of them after playing Diablo 2.

There literally isn't any enemy variety in PoE though. They reuse and reskin skeletons and statues so much it's not even funny.

I'm pretty big on unit variety, but never really had too much of a problem with it in PoE. Since each act is a varied pool I guess I don't mind the recycles so much. Grim Dawn is good at variety, but it all just feels kinda bland anyways.

It's fucking terrible though. Act 1 is just zombies and skeletons.

Act 2 is just monkeys and bandits.

Act 3 is just undying(zombies) and statues.

Act 4 is just more zombies and humanoids.

Act 5 is just humanoids.

Grim Dawn and PoE are pretty much your best bets. Titan Quest is good too, but mechanically Grim Dawn is an improvement over it in many ways.

Started playing D3 today and man, its actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be, but it is laughably easy. I guess maybe the highest difficulty is actually a challenge but of course I'm not allowed to play it until I've beaten the game once, but I'm still enjoying myself.
