No, they never dumped Luminous, they moved KH3 off of Luminous so that the ycoudl finish Luminous engine alongside XV because that is how you make game engines, you finish the engine alongside a game, the same thing happend with Fox Engine and Ground Zeroes, and Luminous became a finished engine before XV was out and they trademarked Luminous Studio Pro last year, and it's been Luminous Studio Pro as a finished engine since, now they are using it on XVs DLC and also have other stuff in the works for it down the line.

Since it only became a finished engine in 2016 is why they started KH3, 7R and DQ11 on UE4 because it was the only other similar featured engine with DX11 capabilities to Luminous, but DQ11 is 900p running and looking worse than XV, KH2.8 runs and looks worse than XV too, and KH3 doesn't look better than XV either, they are only still using UE4 for those because they had to since moving back to Luminous would cause an unnecessary delay.

BD2s next game is going to be using Lumionus and they even recently showcased Kingsglaive assets running in real time on PC in Luminous.
