We won't know until they launch. We could only speculate on Monkey King, but MK trailer had alot to show. You could infer every single one of his abilities from the trailer.

Of the champs and redesigns they've done in the last year or so, only Kayn and Urgot stand out as being particularly edgy, with only the former being obnoxiously so. Eh, it's fairly diverse depending on the lane you're in. Top and Mid remain the most diverse lanes, both in competitive and SoloQ. Generally speaking if you're good enough and you know how to play the matchup correctly, you can play almost any champ in either lane.

ADCs are in an ok spot, with like 75% of them being viable, but there's a real emphasis on fast-hitting tankbusters right now so anyone who doesn't play well with Attack Speed isn't seeing much pro play.

Supports are pretty varied but they all play generally the same. High-damage Mage supports used to be vogue but almost all of them have been nerfed directly or indirectly. The big ticket item right now is Ardent Censer, which makes all your Shields and Heals give a big attack speed boost and on-hit heal to your allies, which is part of the reason why attack-speed carries are so favored right now.

Jungle remains a shitshow. This whole season there have been like, 3 or 4 meta junglers in pro play. Riot keeps trying to nerf some, buff others, but the meta's so stable that the best they can do is trade places. It seems that the pros really only care if their jungler has enough damage to clear and enough CC to gank, and after that it's just whoever has the best stats.

Take Cho'Gath for instance. He hasn't been a competitive pick for years, but this year Riot decided he needed to be. So new patch comes around, and they buff him. Nobody picks him, so they buff him again. Nobody picks him so they buff him again. Finally, they buff him enough to catch people's attention, and at this point he's a fucking monstrosity and he's permabanned in competitive and SoloQ until Riot inevitably nerfs him into irrelevance again. The cycle of jungle balance continues-----we will live, they will die.

The fairy looks fine, the pangolin looks fucking stupid and doesn't fit the artstyle.

Kinda. I mean, they're getting ready to do a massive rework of the Rune system, so that could bring a whole new wave of fuckery that takes months to rebalance, but I always thought Runes were a lame mechanic so if they can do it well it will definitely be an improvement.

If you didn't like the core gameplay of LoL before though, you probably still won't. Compared to Dota heroes, League Champs tend to do lots of things but not to much of an extreme. The longest CC of any individual ability is like, 3.5 seconds. In lane, spells are cheap but their effects are weak and health regens relatively fast, so there's a lot of emphasis on consistently trading and outmaneuvering your opponent until your jungler comes to gank or they make some kind of terrible mistake. Items generally remain stat sticks, except for supports who have a lot more interesting actives to work with (except right now because everyone is rushing Ardent Censer as fast as humanly possible).

Riot carefully controls their meta so as a result there's really only like 7 characters in the game with different skins; assassin, adc, jungler, tank, bruiser, support, mage. 100 chars in 7 roles=lots of them have too much overlap to be useful.
