>still runs like shit, bad grafix, and animals are abominations
>>
If I understand correctly, the majority of the universe has already been generated and explored. Which doesn't make one want to get into it at this point.
>>
good luck discussing this game on /v/eddit
>>
Oh man this game is gonna be so fun when I buy it on a steam sale a year and a half from now

This game was a scam.
Now a REAL game is one that has 200 million in funding with microtransactions in alpha.

who wants to bet Sean and his band of misfits are ghost developing yet another game. They sit on so much money they could be a AA publisher like Deep Silver
>>
>>386903753
Sony had a really big slice of nice juicy pie right there and they are all keeping quiet about it giggling at fools who bought this game

What happened to him?

I'm conflicted. I'm still upset about the deception but is it really fair to judge the game as it is now with this update? Is it really wrong to buy it?

I mean what precedent is Hello games trying to set here? Trick people into buying the game initially and then wait it out to make more money by updating the game to being a proper game a year later?

Like legit, if you are someone whose complelty in the dark about this controversy and hear about the features the game has AS OF NOW. Would you be ok with them buying it?
>>
>>386904037
He took the money used some of it to finish the game and used the rest to buy an island fortress.
>>
>>386904110
I'm in the same boat, but it's impossible to get a good answer on this shit board.
>DUDE MEMES
>>
>>386904110
Yes.
Probably not for $60 dollars, but it's not bad. It was clearly rushed. I actually had a friend buy it sight unseen a month or so agi and he was really enjoying it last I knew.
>>386904274
>le scrollocaust xdd
But yeah. I have literally nowhere to talk about this fucking game because every forum, social media group, and church bulletin board is full of epic memers who haven't even played it.

It's on PSN for 20 bucks right now. Would I get my money's worth

>>
>>386902628
Still no dead moons and varying gravity?

Literally the only two things that would make this space game actually feel like one.
>>
>>386904110
Gonna check out the update when it finishes downloading. I already own the game so at this point I'm rooting for it to eventually be worth what I paid. The first two updates added a surprising amount of content and smoothed out a lot of mechanics but it still felt fairly aimless. We'll see if the new story update fixes that at all.

Overall I'd say personally, if this new update is good, it's worth $20 or so. If you're looking for more of a multiplayer experience though I'd still wait, they've only just started adding in co-op and I doubt it'll ever be the massive mmo some people want.
>>
>>386904274
It is pretty hard to find decent analysis, esp after the patches hit. I looked into some one year later style reviews to see what some of the concerns still were and looked at what the patches added. Seemed excited enough to pull the trigger @ 24 bones.

I'm bummed out about lack player interactions on space stations at the moment. Game feels a bit comfy. I think the game needs a bit more player generated content from what I've seen thus far. That is only an hour in though, so I'm not sure.
>>
>>386904791
I'm still not seeing why people want co-op and multiplayer in a fucking exploration game spanning procedural generation planets. Then again, /v/ is known to be full of retarded normies.
Speaking of which, what do spacefags think of the game now that the update is out?
>>
>>386904419
>>386904274
I had a feeling that was the case. At the very least, games like this are further proof why I'll never buy a new game on release day until I've gotten the proper details (without spoilers of course). I learnt that from destiny so I wasn't exactly enraged from crushed expectations which put this game into a hole I don't I've ever seen a game ever get thrown into this hard in the modern age (aside maybe MN9)
>>
>>386904037
i liked how he stay quiet for a period of time when hell unleshes on his beloved creation and only to crawl back out from his rabbit hole and pretend nothing ever happened
>>
>>386904507
imo yeah.
Especially if they keep on the path they're currently on.
Hopefully we'll have actual multi-player and whatnot within the next year.
>>386904939
As someone who obsessively played freelancer, Spreadsheets Online, and still plays Colony Wars once or twice a month, I'm really enjoying it. I bought it because I wanted to fly around Lehr and Frazetta paintings, so I got what I wanted.

The two space games on PSN right now are NMS and Elite Dangerous, which has a lack of true single player. Would you still pick NMS over Elite? Honestly asking because nigga I just don't know. I got fucked over last year with NMS, so I'm weary.

Better than shamelessly defending it for over a year. Todd IRL doesn't fuck with people even if they're meming him about.
>>
Alright /v/, I pirated this on launch and got tired after about 15 hours.
Is it worth picking up now while it's still on sale? Or should I just redownload Subnautica? I'm going to mostly play offline.

I haven't played Elite: Dangerous except on a friend's Autism 5000 VR HOTAS rig, which isn't a representative experience.
I can say it can be tedious if you don't like stuff like having to manually match a space stations speed/rotation. If you double park your ship the space police kill you.
