Are real time strategy games dead?
Men of War with Robz is still one of my favorite Strategy games out there

No, Total War is still going strong.
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is a Commandos-esque rts that came out at the end of last year and sold well.
Sudden Strike 4, a WW2 rts just came out today.
RTS still has an audience. It won't die anytime soon.

Yeah, but it hasn't aged well, not to mention the obvious Russian bias in balancing on the base game. infuriating

It just was never a good genre. Was fine when games had to be limited because of technology but eh, there's no excuse these days.

You're retarded.
people still play them, and awful faggots like OP still moan, so no
>>386894373
They couldn't easily be made to fit with the mass market so while most genres boomed on 2007 onward rts became niche despite having a similarly large total playerbase, it just faded into obscurity in comparison
And looking at how RPGs are going trough a worse than dead phase now and fps even failing at being twitch skinners boxes, that is not a bad fate
>>386894373
no, but they are way too video gamey to be "mainstream" popular, rts is a wonderful genre that i hope will always stay niche like flight sims.

Anon, that's an RTT.
>>386894373
yeah, cause pc gaymin is shit. notice how all the main pc genres are dead.
CoH2 still has a small but dedicated user base.

>>386894373
Titles still come out time to time, and some of them are even good. They have it better then a lot of genres.

rts and adventure games?
Sudden Strike 4 literally released today.
>>386899624
adventure games are enjoying a huge resurgence wtf are you even talking about?
>if it isn't selling billions it is dead!
No, it is just appeals to an relatively small niche.
>>386894373
Micromanagement is a niche appeal at best.
