The game play and visuals still hold up to this day unlike clunky, ugly Mario 64 and it's walk around with no fucking clue what do layout. It is the last great platform collect-a-thon game of its era. Yooka-Layle and Super Mario Odyssey need not apply.

Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is the better of the two. But only the first one should be comparable.

Incorrect but it's still a good game. Never played the sequels though (except Daxter on PSP which was alright).

Fuck yeah it is. I like mario 64 but when I first played Jak, I was blown away. The world, the characters and daxters dialogue was damn good. Love J&D.

Of course its better. J&D is the definitive platformer collectathon experience.

It learned from what made Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie so great but wasn't just a shitty knock off like Yooka Laylee.

There was already a collect-a-thon game that was better than Mario 64 and was released during the same generation, its called Banjo & Kazooie.

the controls for Jak are so satisfying. Everything feels so fluid. Jak 2 & 3 really improved on it with the addition of guns and dark/light abilities tbqh
